i use a seedbox so i suppose im a bit safer considering when the files do manage to get to my pc its via FTP connection
are you talking about anonymity protection or virus protection
lol I read the title and I thought you were talking about something else... haha
If you mean "Virus Protection" I use: ESET NOD32 Anti-Virus
I kind of like it raw, but here's a lot of diseases and viruses out there these days. So i started to use protection lately....SSL:lol::lol::lol:
only kaspersky
oh yea , every bit counts
I just go go go!
Noone needs it in sweden atm, but new laws might be coming in 1 april... :( (the law is insane, letting corparations blackmail ppl and act police. It's horrible :'( )
EDIT:
IF you mean anti-virus:
I don't use it, I use common sense and ubuntu most of the time.
i use so many i'd need to write a thesis here about all that has been implemented, either at the fileserver and all the other workstations.
all kinds. protection is protection, ya know?
oh please elaborate. I the only thing that keeps me from doing it excessively is the risk involved. I'm a giver by nature. I'm sure 90% of others feel the same way. The other 10% are idiot man-whores.
I use a tinfoil hat, obviously. Doesn't everyone?

Ok, a seedbox might be worth the money. where are the more secure places to buy one? I heard Sweden is STD-free (sauce). Chicks there are pretty hot, too.
they can come in through your face. better cover that too. :P
I tend to stick to sites I trust and girls I trust, so no in both cases.
but what kind of security are you interested to know of?
routing?
firewalling?
OS services and recommended OS ?
HDD encryption ?
protocol encryption?
anti-virus/anti-spyware?
Well I haven't gotten any "virus" yet
OT: I do use Comodo Firewall Pro (it's free and perfect and much more than a regular firewall, as it keeps an eye on system changes as well), where I block annoying IPs/ranges manually... and if I felt I needed any kind of Antivirus, I would probably go with the free version of Comodo Internet Security.
But that's not keeping me safe from authorities, which I feel this topic is about. I have used IP blockers in the past and they all have the same thing in common. They block far to many legit IPs.
the real security is not on the site's end, it is at the client's workstation.
a condom
as in, not leaving traces of your downloads?
well, your stats are always recorded on the tracker, so does your IP.
your ISP also keeps a record, but only of the amount of traffic registered, and which protocols were used, though this can be tricked, being the principle the same as avoiding TS.
on your end: encrypted HDDs. Truecrypt is a valuable tool if you are paranoid.
None. I really only download from private trackers(but sometimes Demonoid), and use RS and newsgroups. So I'm not really worried about it.
No, i go full anal or nothing!!!!
Seedbox/FTP, Newsgroups via SSL and a Doritos bag with a rubber band.
I don't use any protection. I don't think it is required for two reasons. One, the anti-piracy laws are not too strictly enforced in my country. Secondly, I download only from private trackers, and that too, old material. Old that is more than 6 months old material.
me too ... but i just use protection for the files i download... an antivirus...
i am using a seedbox..i think i am a little more secure...and i download only from privat trackers,so trojan/viruses arent a problem for me
i use kaspersky for firewall and AV
was using peerguardian, not right now
encryption in bitorrent client
using private tracker 99% of the time
ssl connection to tracker website if available
condoms
the cat is so cute..
and that guy kinda looks likes a beast
 They never break.
I don't think one should be as worried about the tracker divulging your information as one should be about malevolent peers logging what you send to and receive from them. It's should be much easier for AP organizations to log information about thousands of peers on a private tracker than to actually take the tracker down.
Seedboxes provide an excellent layer of anonymity, but as far as I know, there is no reason why those aforementioned peers couldn't attack the hoster of your seedbox and attain your personal information that way.
So, what are the safest places to host your seedbox? If there is a thread in the seedbox subforum that covers this, let me know.
I'm aware of the encryption available in uTorrent, and do use it. What does TS mean?
Plausable Deniability. :01:
