by an intro we mean tell us something about yourself, be more active here, and then req, i personally made a decision not to request anything till i'm upto a thousand posts(though i had to make a req, t'was an emergency, check out my post history and look at it, then see how to make a proper request, sometimes even the proofs don't matter), two minutes after making the request i recieved 2 pm's offerinf to invite me...so yeah, writing a good request works
