:ph34r: I recently had a debate with someone and they seem to think that you dont have too share if you dont want to.
I personaly think if no one shared then this place would not exist and then where would i get my free software from :( .
I am not saying go and stuff as many files in your share folder than it could handle of cram a load of crap on your computer but one file cant be that hard to get over.
But at the end of the day its up to you just spare a thought for the reason this place exists :D .

What a dumass if no one shared we wouldn't have P2P. It would be almost imposible to use bittorrent mostly. Some people are ignorent.

Yes that is the exact point if u don't share then it (Kazaa-lite) will just DIE if u are not sharing then someone is not downloading.

You need to go read around this board more, with all that stuff your talking about, what do u mean it doesn't have the principle it's the same exact way but like they said with added features and Kazaa-lite has no ad/spy ware so If u like that kind of stuff then go right ahead and use it. Leave this forum, get a new subscription with Kazaa gold :lol: :lol: and then find their forum (they probably don't even have one) and make a new home for yourself. Thank u have a nice day. <_<

he's talking about the pl level in kmd. you'd have to share to get your pl up even thpough it'd drop rapidly again once you downloaded a lot of things. we all know with the cheat or pl rig in k-lite it was back to leeching for some.

I don't really see the point in argueeing about it... you're either gonna share or you're gonna leach and it doesn't matter what anyone says the final desicion is up to that person.

It a good thing though most people share. But i hear of more and more people who say they do not..... i hope this isn't a trend. :wacko:

The website depicts the product as being being unique, but on execution of the program the screen shows "Kazaa Lite 1.7.1 Installation".

It charges $9.95 for a download, $6.87 for mail deliver on CD, or $29.95 for a "Premium" download which includes some public domain utilities.

KMD had no pl hack. he's talking about kmd itself and not any add ons you download after you got kmd. it by itself encouraged sharing if you ever wanted to get good speeds and uninterrupted downloads. k-lite, diet kazaa and other addons/ hacks changed that.

Yeah, u had to download it which when people heard about they went and got it anyway. So Kazaa-lite just added anyway and that pl stuff wasn't always there they put it there like right around when kazaa-lite came out.

I not trying to disprove it really doesn't matter if u share u share if u are a leecher u are a leecher, we will never know who is leeching but if a mass number of people start u will see what happens.

But it is important. That is why I continue sharing my files and what more important my thoughts openly. If you would not share your files or thoughts I understand you in some ways, cause you are just human, but it is important.

and if you do not want to share files in us at the moment, keep on the idea of sharing by sharing your thoughts openly :)

h8 to say it, but he's got a point. yes kazaa lite is a hugely improved version of KMD. but....... KMD makes users share...kl dont! <_<

And that Pl level didn't do anything most people had low(0) I used to cut them off but then I got tired of that I ain't about to keep cutting everyone off who has low 0 some people didn't even know what it was some didn't care. So KMD didn't make u share it just showed who was and wasn't.

Kazaa's PL system INTENTIONALLY SABOTAGED both Grokster and IMesh, 2 competing file-sharing programs that ALSO paid $'s to connect to the fasttrack network.

By the time I switched over to a Kazaa Lite version that had PL in it, I already knew how to hack the system registry to save and restore my PL at will.

Even if I totally blew it down to PL=0 and lost all my saves, I could still easily restore to PL=100 by deleting the entry.

So it had _VERY_ minimal protections against hacking -- to say nothing of the download-off-yourself tricks that came out...

KMD's 'solution' for the download-off-yourself tricks -- make it so uploading to anyone on LAN ips have no effect on PL. So my uploading to router users had ZERO effect on my PL.

Even 1-point PL differences can cause instant disconnection from a download source, which results in lots of people getting lots of partial files and very few getting the whole file. This is very bad because Kazaa requires the WHOLE file before it can be shared. So it is a disaster even in terms of technical merit when it 'works'...
