Re: Lock and hide your hard-drives
Hmm, why not just hide folders, or even just use true crypt
Re: Lock and hide your hard-drives
Don't see the point in that, but ok.
Re: Lock and hide your hard-drives
Hmmm, I used TrueCrypt for two weeks just fine, got hit by a virus and was no longer able to access the non-system drive using my password (after cleaning up the system). 120gb of files gone bye bye.
Okay, so I lock or hide the drive ... now when I want to access it I have to go in and restore the registry setting to its previous state. Do I got that right?

It hides the entire drive. That is the point....though there are better alternatives in my opinion. :P

Re: Lock and hide your hard-drives
I think it just hides the drive.

Re: Lock and hide your hard-drives
you can alternatively go to compmgt.msc and remove a drive letter to the desired drive.
And once you want it to show up go there again and assign it again.
Re: Lock and hide your hard-drives
Hide it .How can i use it again without modifying registry.

Re: Lock and hide your hard-drives
True Crypt for the win. Just remember to always back up your volume-headers in case of problemos.
Re: Lock and hide your hard-drives
Thanks for the advice Disme, TrueCrypt is the better solution for hiding sensitive info imo.

Absolutely nothing, no danger at all of data loss.

Privacy, feature lock-down if it's a public terminal and you don't want customers to be able to access drives.
Re: Lock and hide your hard-drives
Or you could stick them into a safe....
Re: Lock and hide your hard-drives
My nephew is too young to play computer.
Re: Lock and hide your hard-drives
what if the system got crashed and re-installation of OS is needed? After that can we be able to see hidden hard drive contents?
