why do we have to pay for overnet....cant we like crack it?
overnet is free but if you want an ad free you have to pay for it and you can find a crack on overnet it self, but you do understand that overnet is practically edonkey without the hassel of choosing serversQuote:

eMule v0.30a-LSD12e
you can get link to the the modded versions at the eMule forum.
Overnet is Oversimplified and too limiting.
eDonkey, though I haven't used any recent versions, is just a pain in the ass and an ugly interface.
eMule is relatively easy to use, lots of options, nice-looking, has an excellent FAQ at their site, and lots of people
mod it and make it better.
eMule plus is also a slightly improved, slightly less intimidating version than some of the mods.
If you need any help setting it up, just ask here, or check out their FAQ.
The donkey network is sooo much better than really any other file-sharing out there, IMO.
Of course there's ShareReactor, FileNexus.com, MusicDonkey.net, and a slew of
other sites with excellent collections of hashes for just about anything you want....
But don't expect the speed of FastTrack...with eMule you'll get best results by leaving it on overnight...
but you'll never get corrupted files (if you stick with verified links), or have to deal with sifting through fakes, and most
games and apps are available on the Donkey network a couple weeks before they've hit FastTrack in decent numbers.
so hurry up! go here! :P
Emule connects the best, i havent had much luck at MLDonkey becuase i cant find a good working version.
Yeah I noticed that. Good thing I have boxes that stay on 24/7 because emule practically downloads when it wants to, unlike kazaa.Quote:

follower creates his own network!
posted Monday September 08, 2003 with 08h49 by Guillaume Champeau
source: follower-Project
The news is a half-surprise since it had been awaited for several months, but here which it is finally official: follower will know soon his own decentralized network! Based like Overnet on the Kademlia protocol, follower will however not be compatible with the software of Jed McCaleb. The war eMule/eDonkey/Overnet is thus sharper than ever.
It is by a message on the official forum that Unknown1 announced the nearest arrival of a customer without waiter:
" We will add a new network to follower. He will be without waiter and based on the Kademlia protocol. Although other networks use already this protocol (Overnet), we will not join this network ".
Three principal reasons officially guided this choice. First of all the sources will not be lost since not divided between eDonkey and the decentralized networks. Then whereas the Overnet network is not open-source, that of the future decentralized follower is it, allowing a richer and fast development. Finally not to rest on Overnet makes it possible not of it to be dependent and thus to be able to work freely without being limited by the interworking of the customers.
This new network (of which the developers still seek the name) should not be long in being born since the first tests have been just carried out successfully, and of small public tests should quickly take place before official launching.
Which future for eDonkey, follower and Overnet?
If it is clear that eDonkey was at the end of the lifetime in spite of good recent innovations, MetaMachine could still count on their Overnet customer to find the users left on follower. With this new protocol incipient finally completely independent of the waiters, can one still grant much hope to the success of Overnet? Undoubtedly not if Jed McCaleb and its team do not decide quickly with really communicating with the users to answer their desires.
There are strong chances while waiting for so that the new follower gains many votes and makes pass Overnet for an old puffing customer, as emulates had done with eDonkey one year ago...

It is on supernova, tried it and its pretty good, I still like my sivka mod though.
A big difference that I noticed is the search. My sivka mod found files that the kademlia mod didn't.

The 'big' thing was the search....it ( kademlia ) didnt find near as many sources for the files I was looking for (less than half)......most of which were 2004 releases.
EMULE
