what sites really care about h&r?
As a big hit and runner, I'm curious about this.
My specific question is does SCT autowarn for h&r? I just dumped a handful of torrents there and so I may have an answer in a few days, but I'm curious nonetheless.
I know TL says they autowarn, but I never seed anything there for more than an hour tops.
I know FTN doesn't have a strict time limit at the moment and they don't seem to care much either.
Pretome has an autowarn system that is a pain in my balls. I've had to exchange a lot of upload to get rid of them.

Re: what sites really care about h&r?
I don't think sct has an autowarn system, if they do, it doesn't work. :P

Re: what sites really care about h&r?
On many sites the activity plummets after day 1 and I see no reason to seed at minimal speeds for 3 days hoping to seed back the remaining .3 ratio when my overall ratio is more than solid. If sharing is caring, I'm apathetic after the swarm slows down.

Re: what sites really care about h&r?
I agree with forcus
if everyone done that, the tracker would have no torrents after a day, and then you would be claiming it was shit because of lack of content.
who do you think keeps torrents alive, YOU the bloody users, if you dont do it no one else will.
and BTW BCG cares about it, but then on the other hand if you get banned from BCG for hit and running, you want lining up against a wall and bloody shot.

Re: what sites really care about h&r?
its not really worth it taking the risk over your account mate :)

Re: what sites really care about h&r?
You shouldnt be on those sites if yer a HnR'r. Why would it kill you to seed something the proper amount of hours required by the tracker? Don't be selfish please! :-/

Tbh, I think this is the OP's way of informing trackers of their flaws. Some of their staffers are surely reading this thread, so I guess it is a success.
If you really do H'n'R, OP, then you really are an idiot.

Why is he an idiot?

Re: what sites really care about h&r?
This thread was mainly to get an answer at SCT's h&r policy since I don't feel like getting another ban or lifetime warning on my new account.
The generalization was meant to inflame all you hardcore seed or die types. I really do h&r and never seed more than a few days, never overseeding, but keep my ratio good overall on sites I like. I am selfish and don't care if you call me an idiot because I'm a leech and don't give a crap about retention or sharing in general.

Re: what sites really care about h&r?
so pay for usenet then, private torrents are not for you.
I your not a very good torrent user in general really are you.
Hit and Run
make multiple accounts on sites
Invite yourself to sites
and thats just from the last 10 minutes on here that i have learnt that about you.

The OP is far from an idiot. Maybe not the ideal torrenter, but you don't have to be a genius to torrent fairly. You just need patience, a pc you're willing to leave idling alot, and preferably a decent connection.
-
Re: what sites really care about h&r?
I also pay for usenet. I'm not trying to be an ideal torrenter. I just want free shit.
-
Re: what sites really care about h&r?
SCT does have a hit and run script though I have no idea what the parameters are. It's great to see fine members like you doing the right thing...greedy fucker.
-
Re: what sites really care about h&r?
This is not exactly the type of question that traders ask,but as far as i know, there aren't any trackers that encourage h & r,but with that invite shop,i figure anything goes, remember the guy who faked uploading over 1TB?exactly,the sysop there is too busy investing your donations and with his record holding scene bans i won't be suprised if his other occupation is scouring the web for proxies.

Re: what sites really care about h&r?
TL and SCT dont seem to warn for hit and runs.
Regaurdless comments were made about finding it hard to seed back for days after dl the files.
If your client is sitting idle sending nothing then its harming you nothing now isn't it?
So why not leave the files seeding idly in your client for a bit longer since its not harming you..
(Unless you have a tiny hd and need to remove those files to make room for new stuff.)
-
Re: what sites really care about h&r?
i never hnr, never. but i have many friends that do, and u can do all u want, that i am sure of at revtt, tl, ipt (a friend of mine hnr every torrent there), bitsoup and bit-hdtv. btw, op acts like a moron, but he is smart.

You're right that it doesn't harm me. I have plenty of spare HD space, but I tend to burn the dvds and move the HD movies off to my external HD for playback pretty quickly.
I've always had the habit of keeping no more than a handful of torrents running.
I seed back for a day or two, but I'm not going to be bound by some arbitrary rule chosen by staff. I seed beyond the ratio requirements on most stuff, so I don't care if a few pornos or whatever I download aren't seeded according to the rules.

Re: what sites really care about h&r?
HnR is lack of respect for the others. You get into a tracker some harder than others and then start braking its rules. Why? P2p means that you should give back what you have taken, therefore its free.
The thing is that I also hnr but once every two months or so when I download a new OS and format but always forget to add that last torrent back into my list. Sorry for that.

don't be so impatient, you'll have the answer soon ^^
However I don't think it's a problem since they seems more interested by our money than our bandwidth over there lol

Re: what sites really care about h&r?
At torrentleech as long as your ratio is good you can H&R all you want. but anyone in a private tracker knows if you want to keep your ratio good and have that warm fuzzy feeling inside you'll never h&r...

Re: what sites really care about h&r?
Can't the Vip's At Revolution H&R all they want?

Re: what sites really care about h&r?
H & R's suck, if you want to keep the scene alive then seed ffs it dont take much to work it out if you dont seed then the torrent will die......new site http://www.bad2thebone.net/ encourages you to seed but also give karma point for seeders, free leech at the moment and sign ups open, come join!!!!!

See to me we are not strict at all. If anything we are total pushovers.
Tell me another "Private" tracker that would let this member still be a member?

He is obviously top of the line when it coes to SP payout, but he has done the minimum we have asked off him, the problem is, has he got those stats from all 0 day torrents that have just been uploaded (so probably limiting his bw) or are most older torrents with 0 leechers for weeks?
Most say we are to strict so wont download, to me, as long as you seed, which lets be honest you should be doing anyway, the system gives you the 1 ratio and takes off the hit and run anyway.
and btw his average seeding time is 17 days, which is not bad over 576 torrents.

Re: what sites really care about h&r?
SCT clearly doesn't care. Maybe on packs or people with shitty ratios, but I've been bad and haven't seen a warning.

The ratio system is purely statistical and somewhat innacurate for the ones with shared or dynamic ips. Besides what other users may think of you for not sharing, there is no punishment for having a low ratio.

I believe that is called sarcasm.
