Sorry for another Halo thread

OK a few of us have played online with Mcnutter hosting and were gonna try and set it up as a regular thing.

Instructions for setting up online MP (credit to Mcnutter)

Install game (available on suprnova.org the bit torrent site)
Install patch 1.01 (available here)
Replace Halo.exe with the hacked public server Halo.exe (available on supranova.org filename:Halo_Combat_Evolved_Public_Server_Patch-FLTDOX)

The rest of the details we can sort out later if anyones interested in this (how to set up a game, times ppl are on etc.)

Post if your interested. :)

Once again credit goes to Mcnutter for starting this.

Right so thats N£MO, Icey, L0rD_S0tH, McNutter and myself so far.
I know Iceys GMT and I think N£MO is too.
So thats 4 of us who are about at roughly the same time.

Well I'm U.S. central time (-6 hours from GMT).

a good time for me tomorrow would be around 1:30-2:00pm or after, which would be, what, like 7:30pm-8pm for you guys?

OK,i will host a game later about 21.00GMT.A CTF game with vehicles.Have tested mine and i hosted 8 players with my connection and didnt notice any lag,and we were able to talk too.

I'll be there too.

I can generally play after 2pm US central time (8pm GMT) during the work week, although weekends I am pretty much open for gametime at anytime of the day.

Can we all make sure we are using the same patch,just incase its that stoping us talking.I am on the public one.

Also did you password protect your server?Did you get any others joining?

I used the private server patch. I don't think there is a jot of difference between the public/private patch. I'll try the public one tonight though.

I did password protect my server so only people who browse this forum could enter. I didn't want random players using my bandwidth.

Let's try and move everyone over to the public patch. See if we can speak then. I think everyone used the private patch yesterday and no one could speak. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I also had DirectX problems with Halo. It refused to start:

I put it in Windows 98 Compatability mode and it worked a treat :) If you have the same problem it should work for you too.
