As a lawyer myself (not in the USA by the way) i find that the canadian option (the fees in the cd-rīs) is good, but for what i was able to understand from the article you linked me to, thatīs even better.
Just a little and unnoticeable question. . . how do i eat it!!!???
Simple plain words for a "not-so-educated-about-technical-pc-language" kind of guys would be appreciated.

This is interesting. I think I get the gist of this, but maybe not. If I'm correct, here's a simplified conceptualization. Using the metaphor of music notation as an example, OFF is akin to taking a song, breaking it up into very fine elements, these elements being so ordinary (such as the individual pieces comprising a song like a 1/4 note) and then having many other songs decomposed likewise. Since there are many songs with the 'same quarter note', there is no way of proving that each of the elements are part of an identifiable copyrighted material.
Put another way, imagine that one took 10 copyrighted manuscripts and shredded them into very fine pieces. How would anyone be able to prove that the fine paper pieces are part of a copyrighted manuscript? Very cool concept. Thanks for the info.
i think this is a sweet idea. and if it works kazaa lite should somehow support it in their program.

It's the corruption behind the entertainment industry. It's the people that have always been taking advantage of artists...So that's what they want to anihilate... There will be some other ways to support artists, like even label controlled by the Government... We already pay taxes, besides there will still be a lot of profits, to even patch up budget holes...

I see no artists that is good worried about the RIAA, in fact most likely they support the RIAA for trying to stop their music from being download. Also, the RIAA doesn't take advantage of artists.
hi i have been reading all kinds of posts alll over this forum about riaa. well im getting pissed off about it just sitting here. i had kazaa lit for a while but then stopped because of the riaa. its not right they meake us pay 15 dollars for a cd. that has songs on it. i am against the riaa all the way because it is not right what they do. like some people say we should buy more cds to lower the price. nooo. the cd companys are just money hogs they will keep it the same price or maybe even raise it. i am getting kazaa back now and i hope it is as secure as i hope it is. because i dont want any stupid person talking to me about im in trouble for listening to something i didnt pay for.

It doesn't guarantee to block them all, but if you have version 2.4.2 or higher, and keep the IP blocker in the Tools updated frequently, you will have some protection at least. :)Quote:

As far as I'm concerned, RIAA is just an organization sponcored by the CD labels etc. owners, to fight with growing filesharing. Now some artists, just signed under it , which might have been a suicide for them(check here), because fans where disgusted by the fact, that their idols were going to hunt and punish the "hands that feed them", because besides sharing most also bought their CD's. Some artists, like...hmmm... I think Chuck D from "Public enemy" was suporting file sharers, saying that it's nothing new, people always were getting stuff off of the radio, or copying something from a friend.Quote:

It's obious, they are trying to fight. It's not like they will not be able to put food on the table because of the file sharing, but they are terrified that they might loose their private jets... aaawwwww... poor them... :rolleyes: :P :lol:
