Except no ratio what are some cool features or ideas have you seen implemented on trackers?
For me it's probably the "clubs" on fsc. Haven't been able to experience it but being in say the fight club for example sounds really intriguing.

May be...
FSC(Games and clubs)+SCT(nice pretime)+GFT(no ratio, nice design)
Share Index and Seed Points(more sites need to implement systems like these). Or even bonus points.
we all know that fsc has the best ideas
^^)
Maybe Pretome and PTN for its gold points system and Blackjack!!And for being a ratio free tracker!!
glitterstep ..blackjack and gold /cash / points//are everywhere :).not the first and surely not the last .
ftn is a ratio free tracker too :/
FSC has always been implementing cool ideas..
watch out for more to come.. :D
Sparvar - Invite applications require users to insert a code to their profile page on other trackers when providing ratio proof . Makes it near impossible to fake them.
BitShock - Has a guest account where users can try the tracker before registering. Would help to minimize number of folks who sign up to have a look around and never use the site again.
^^ now those two i've never heard of.how does that code thing work exactly coz it still sounds fakeable to me?
Not the first site to do that. The other site has never been mentioned on FST afaik so I won't spoil it for everyone, but yeah you had to be PU on a certain tracker and it involved some sort of code in the aforementioned tracker when making an app. ;)
edit: on to the topic, I think gazelle's notification system is the most innovative and useful thing done for tracker's recently.
The bounty system on requests introduced by What.cd/Gazelle
gazelle = phail :unsure:
Karagarga's MoM (Masters of the Month)
ptn had the idea 2
Definitely the share index system. imo it still pwns the typical "no ratio system" and I believe it was around before trackers started going "no ratio".
The thing that makes torrenting cool to me is knowing that if something is released, that I will have the opportunity to download it from my primary site soon after it is released. So I think a scene site that races almost all the content I want (don't care about porn 0day or music). FTN fell off a bit, missing many releases lately or coming late. SCT and as far as I remember SCC are the tops when it comes to this. TL will also get it, but later of course and it's rampant with noobs and ads.
I didn't think the clubs at FSC were anything great. They have a few club based uploads and a forum but it's nothing too interesting or active (last year at least, but then again, the whole place seemed kinda dead to me). The FunSpace was kinda lame too. I know there are a lot of fanboys here but I didn't see what the fuss was about at FSC. But I'm a dick so maybe that's my problem.
It's even more secure than providing a profile link because that profile link will then have a long alphanumeric code in the info section of the profile which is not fakable unless you had a friend put the code in that very profile link you provided.
https://wigornot.com/f/ "The Site" is the other one that uses it. It's an ok under the radar forum-based tracker with a seemingly unique community. They ran a promo on what a while back.
Yeah it seems to be filled with hipsters and emos.
no ratio = TPB as a pioneer
Can someone be so kind to explain the share index system to me?

The Share Index system is unique to FSC, and was designed to help those that find it hard to seed back enough to maintain a healthy ratio. For each 24 hours of connectivity, members earn a ratio 0.10 for each active torrent. That means that even if no one leeches from a seeder, within 10 days of sharing he will have a ratio of at least 1.0 on that torrent! This special ratio is called a Share Ratio, and is basically a bonus, added to the traditional up/down file ratio.
The Share Ratio is added to the member's file ratio to create a combined ratio, which is called a Share Index. The Share Index is the defacto measure of sharing on the site. If you are partially successful in seeding some data back, the Share Ratio for that torrent will help to boost the file ratio. All this goes into the Share Index.
Goem (free leech slot) and BCG (SP).
Gazelle for specialized trackers was(is) a fantastic project. Ftn's non ratio system was something new (although I'm not sure they were the first ones). I like Hdbits advanced search options. Sharing bonus systems are good as long as they are simple
+1 on Gazelle, especially for music trackers.
browse page w/ torrents, seeders, leechers etc :wanko:
I have not tested this but that should be very easy to do.
Just remove 1 line from the top of browse.php (or any other page you want them to see)
loggedinorreturn();
and then anyone can view it, even if they try to download a torrent, they cant as they will not have a passkey.
But i think you will find that most trackers prefer not to let just anyone view what they have, which is the reason, as far as i am aware, only this tracker actually does it.
and if you mean a guest account, like i have an account, that will be easy as well.
just create an account and tell ppl the user/pass, (keyword for us) stop them from downloading/uploading/posting etc etc, and just let them sign in with it.
Which tbh i have never even thought of before until now lol
And it may stop 1000s of members joining up and never using their account, if they can see what it is like first.
PS: In answer to the ops question, and everyone knows what i am going to say. SP mod with our Hit and Run system, to me we cant have one without the other.
I like to see a tracker where members can earn bonus from downloading and not just seeding. Combine that with some form of h&r rules; it can increase the trackers' activities.
A tracker thats under dev is gonna implement something never ever seen before..and yeah, downloading activity is taken in account as well in the complex and kinda holistic algorithm being developed and tested..
ya all will get to know about it in good time.. :yup:
Probably the most logical reason for a tracker to implement this feature. Its no need for people to sign up to trackers only to find out they aren't anything close to their tastes(happened to me with extremebits somebody told me it was a music tracker),a guest account for test driving sounds like a good feature.Though i figure with trackers inclination towards being mysteries this is highly unlikely to take off.Quote:

A little offtopic but does anybody know what these sites are all about?

Never heard of perome. Must be another tracker I'm referring to. :P
