This fellow, who has embedded hisself within the BT section finds it funny to post YouTube vids containing the mentally/physically handicapped in the lounge.
They were immediately removed, yet it still pertains to some kind of crazy-out-of-its-motherfucking-mind sensibility that it actually has a point.

Chalice, I was comparing the Lounge members to the characters in that movie.. You should watch it if you haven't seen it. You'll find more similarities in your behaviors than you'd think

There is a distinct difference between using words like 'mong', 'spastic' 'window-licker' and the like, and the active exploitation of the graphical images of the genetically less fortunate.
I use words. He uses images of actual human beings.
Did he ask permission from these human beings? No, he didn't.

As to everybody else who doesn't really know what happened and is just riding on what chalice is telling them,I posted a thread titled 'celebrating the mentally handicapped' .In it there were videos of these mentally challenged individuals dancing.
Skiz deleted it and skweeky proceeded to call me names upon her misinterpretation of my intention.As usual the lounge ganged up on me hence the thread.
I still insist on the following though.If you look at the videos and you laugh coz you think its funny then you are a moron.If you look at the videos and you laugh but upon rumination you start feeling guilty and instead of blaming it on your upbringing you decide to take it on me,then you are equally a moron.
Me on the other hand when I look at the videos albeit the occasional chuckle,I see people taking action to beat a stereotype.Society as evidenced by the trashing and eventual outburst over that thread is comfortable with the idea of the handicapped being just handicapped,its crossing the line when they go venture outside and do something as normal as dancing simply because they don't do it as perfectly(that is exactly what i gather from you people).That said,I hope you aren't shunning them in RL as you are on the interwebz,it may seem awkward the way they do things but at least its something from somebody who has to learn even the most basic of things.
Am sure the reason why skweeky was on my case was due to the guilt trip she was under but like I said,don't blame it on me,take it to your upbringing.

Anyway, I did not see the video posted here, but I seem to remember something similar posted a couple of years ago. Didn't find any humor in it myself, but it [u]can[/b] be looked at in both the "condescending humor" of a 3rd grader mentality, or you can (possibly) look at it as the mentally/physically challenged enjoying themselves.
I do not know what the intention was (and it is probably on the weak side to post it in a forum like this), but it is a video that brings out a person's character. Whether that is good or pathetic comes from how someone responds to it.
There are a lot of videos that get posted in various places on the internet. I am happy that there are definite lines drawn here. I would not want to be included in a group that would find such videos humorous. The reaction to the video, and its quick removal, show good judgment and character on the part of members and staff.
That said, I have known sez for the few months that I have been a member of FST and will give him the benefit of the doubt- as I would do with any of my friends. I have had several mature discussions with sez (both in public and via PM). During those discussions, I have found him to be of good character. Because of that character, I value his friendship and have occasionally asked his advice. If the posting of the video was a lapse of judgment, it was simply that.

Y'know, I wouldn't have bothered posting this thread if Sez had immediately done the decent thing and admitted that his thread was in very poor taste and something of a misfire.
He didn't, though. What he did was clutch at a very tenuous straw and decided to lie about his original reasoning.
Contrary to my posting style, I find very few things to be offensive on the internets. However, this is a pet peeve of mine. It has happened before (not in the lounge to my recollection) and I reacted according to my 'ethics' then and will continue to do so.
So I'm now calling Sez a liar as well as a cunt.
This is a lounge - whilst it is relaxed there are some obvious courtesies to observe like not pissing in the pot plants. We boot people who come on here and spam, push weird conspiracy theories without ever debating the pish they post, we boot racialists and people who espouse hatred towards people who have no say in their condition.
