Could anyone tell me what type of video files I can burn onto cd-rw please?
anything you want...as long as they fit
Any file that is VCD ready, which has an extension of .mpg. If u need more info on VCD's or how to make one there are great guides here: DVDRHELP
what about divx?
Yes, as 3rd gen noob said "as long as they fit" but in order to watch on a DVD player then u have to do what I said in my previous post.
you'll need to convert them to a format your dvd player can read...i.e. vcd (or a variant)Quote:

So lets say I use Nero and burn a divx file onto cd-r as a data file.
That should work then?
Are there cd-r's that that can store more than 700mb?
common advice would be to use software such as tmpgenc to convert the avi file into a vcd first, then burn onto cd...the inbuilt convertor in nero is pretty poorQuote:

you can buy 800MB cd-r's, however, unless you use kvcd you'll probably need 2 cd-r's for one full length avi file (when converted to vcd)
Ok..Ok..Silly question here I'm sure...But..if I'm reading this post right then there may be a way to burn movies from your computer using your CD-RW? I thought you had to have a DVD burner? Or something to that effect to save your movies to CD???

I have some Family Guy episodes I downloaded. I have a CD-RW can I save these episodes on a CD with my CD-RW.
I'm pretty new at computers..Can you tell.. :blink:
