Is hotfile.com trustworthy? - Downloader perspective
Hello there.
I have a rapidshare account premium after reading through the privacy policy and terms of service fully to understand that no information pertaining to what you download is stored as they dont have the architecture to do so plus they believe that information is private to the user, which is good good.
I cannot say the same for hotfile.com however as nothing is really said unless I missed it about what information is kept about downloaders. Does anyone know more about this?
Many thanks
Dave

Hello!
We keep logs related to uploading only (as Rapidshare).
Account information we kept is only email, username.

Hotfile and Uploading. Two DD sites that I don't really like.
Re: Is hotfile.com trustworthy? - Downloader perspective
I think the ones in the same league of RS is Megaupload and Mediafire. I really wish more uploaders on the big general forums would start using these two more.

Probably just Hong Kong based Megaupload, Funk.. they cater to a lot of Asians since most of them like to upload to the site.. their servers are much more reliable.
I wouldn't really say so for Mediafire since they would most probably just become like RapidShare if they became more popular.
I do not have a Hotfile premium account but I can surely tell you it's speeds are pretty good since I'm using a private premium link generator by a close friend of mine but not as great/reliable compared to RapidShare.
I can tell you that I'm pretty sure they do not oversell like Uploading on purpose. They have also been proven to pay those who upload popular files.

I totally agree. I've always been curious to why they don't.

I don't like Hotfile, but MediaFire is definitely a good alternative to RapidShare. I get excellent speeds when downloading from MediaFire, and I'm sure speeds would be exactly the same if I bought a premium account over there.
I recently purchased a RapidShare premium account and I'm glad I did. Now I don't have to wait to download any files.

Because other people, in turn, also use Rapidshare, and thus they can get Premium points to trade and get an account to download other goodies without waiting, and the circle goes on...
