Conspiracy Theory?
VU Games executive Christoph Ramboz told a French newspaper earlier this week that the theft would result in the game's slipping until April 30 -- which remains unconfirmed by other Vivendi sources or Valve.
Still, if that's true, other industry insiders are puzzled -- why would the theft cause a release delay?
"I just wonder -- is this an accident, is it a big deal, or have they just been slipping, slipping, slipping, and it turns out that the slip has been bigger than anyone imagined?" asked one industry executive. "Why would the release of the code slip you four months? Do you have to rewrite it and make it different? Someone needs to ask that question."
