Re: What is the best brand ?
I find that ImgBurn is the best. It can burn pretty much everything I throw at it and it's doesn't take up much disk space. It's updated from time to time, and to top it all off, it's absolutely free.
As for your backup DVD's not playing, you sure your DVD+R's are decent quality and aren't getting scratched up? I can't imagine that it has to do with the software. Although extremely bulky, I always found Nero to perform well.
Re: What is the best brand ?
I like Alcohol 120% on windows and if you can get a mac then Toast is far more superior it's the best burning software i have ever used. As foe DVDR disks go Verbatim are very good so are maxell stay away from silverline they are not goof at all as are banq
Re: What is the best brand ?
the quality of the DVD is Perfect.but when i burn it and i play it 2,3 times the DVD barely works.my question is which the best branded DVD and software do i use so that i wont have these problems. by the way my DVD player is new
Re: What is the best brand ?
Hmmm i also had that problem with a one movie that i watched more then once (American history x love it) it might have something to do with the burner or it's just that the CD is deteriorating
Re: What is the best brand ?
i use verbatim disks and dvdshrink/imgburn/infrarecorder etc...
Re: What is the best brand ?
Taiyo Yuden manufactures the best disks. Verbatim is the most accessible and highest quality brand selling them.
ImgBurn is the easiest and most effective freeware.
I would advise you to burn at nice slow speeds.
Re: What is the best brand ?
Just a possibility...are you using a proper disc safe pen to write on the discs? If the ink soaks into the disc, it's destroyed.
Might not be that, but something to consider. If you are not sure, burn some discs and do not write on them. Check them over the same period of time.
I buy my DVDs from Newegg. They have a good selection of Ritek/Ridata. Always been good for me.
Re: What is the best brand ?
i have been using disk safe pens. Where have the CD's been have you been keeping them in the sun or in a darker area ?
Re: What is the best brand ?
i am using safe pens and i am keeping my DVD's far away from sun and darker area
Re: What is the best brand ?
Then it's either the cd are old ( they don't last well over long periods of time) or something is wrong with your cd burner m8 i can't think of anything else maybe someone will correct me but I can't think of a different problem.....
Re: What is the best brand ?
I use Verbatim DVD+R, Nero Burning ROM 6.6.1.15, and a fine point sharpie.
Re: What is the best brand ?
I think i have to change my DVD'S brand
Re: What is the best brand ?
Verbatim/Sony with ImgBurn does the trick for me
Re: What is the best brand ?
verbatim can be very different.. could be tayo yuden which is great, mitsubishi which is okay and other shit like moser baer or smth which is a failure. try to stick with made in japan/taiwan verbatims and you should be okay. stay away from india etc..
Re: What is the best brand ?
Often the problem is solved by flashing the latest firmware on the drive.
I've solved similar problems always like that and never had to change the brand.
Try RPC1 to solve your needs.
Re: What is the best brand ?
I use anything cheap. RiDATA atm with imgburn
Re: What is the best brand ?
if you use sony,it is actually quite good...like verbatim...i dun think it's the brand.. or maybe it's just that one dvd-r
Re: What is the best brand ?
Taiyo Yuden are the best.
Re: What is the best brand ?
I only use Verbatim and Ashampoo Burning Studio 9.. For me is the best brand.. Also memorex is nice too
Re: What is the best brand ?
Been Sony DVD-R for years w/o an issue and still use DVD Decrypter for ISO/IMG.. Just tried a movie I burnt four years ago and works and looks fine...
