and what it does is give the water the same look as it does in HL2 and the lighting looks a big better and a few more other improvements a bit better details, ragdoll effects, and better physics.

More leaks related to the initial source code/VALVe leak has come out. Here's what Fragmaster from Planet Half-Life says, since I'm not very eloquent:
Well, it appears that this "Anonymous Leaker" character wasn't bluffing, because now he's apparently released something that lets you play Half-Life and Counter-Strike using Half-Life 2's source engine. And he's also supposedly released an outdated build of Counter-Strike: Condition Zero (it's going gold Friday, see yesterday's story) and/or possibly something that deals with Counter-Strike 2. We really don't care to know the details, and we can't exactly confirm this because we refuse to download these releases ourselves. And we of course strongly suggest you don't download any of this stolen material either.
I'm guessing that VALVe had something up its sleeve concerning a port of CS to the new Source (HL2) engine, unless someone coded themselves a port (which seems unlikely). Cool, a free surprise from VALVe ruined by some dork. And man, you have to admit that VALVe really deserves to have their free updates to the community spoiled!
Of course, we here at CS-Nation would agree with the sentiment that downloading anything like this is pretty pointless. Hey, you know, I'm a pretty big fan of CS/HL and even I can wait until the stuff is final. Heck, games are about fun. It's pretty hard to enjoy a game when it has silly debug messages running across the screen. "DEBUG 2293ms WORSHIP NEWELL!! -LOMBO & BASKETHEAD" really kills the mood of a game. I don't think there is much point in downloading the leaks of the games because they're just not playable. They can't be fun.
If you want to read more about the HL2/source code leak check out GameSpy's article: What's Next for VALVe and Half-Life 2? The article has a lot of reactions from the professional development community.

If you'd read the FAQ that was made about the leak it says this:
HALF LIFE 1 + COUNTERSTRIKE PORTED TO HL2 SOURCE ENGINE
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To use the HL1 port on HL2: Rename /Bin in your Half-life 2 main folder to bin_orig, then
copy all the info from the port rars into the main dir, then run the game using the cmd
line: hl2.exe -console -game hl1 -dxlevel 80 -heapsize 256000
Its probably best you backup your hl2 beta folder in case you fuck it up.
I'm not going to do this, but I thought you'd like to read this. Oh and please cut it with the spamming smiles, yes, they do look gay. ;)
   :P
Peace.

wtf
I wouldn't be all that excited Black Ops. You get an OEM version of the game. You know what that means? It means you don't get any manuel, no goodies, no maps, no nothing. You get the box, with a single cd(that is if its one cd only). Do you get to play mods with the OEM verson? NOPE. Do you get to install expansion packs? NOPE.Quote:

OEM stands for "Original Equipment Manufacturer". I don't even think you will be able to play online with that version. Only thing you will be able to do with that OEM version is play single player...
If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.
yes they will...
Maybe they will for half-life 2. But my experience with OEM versions is you don't get shit. I'd rather have the full bought version.
wtf is oem

And I think you're wrong about the OEM thing. I think that OEM is just a disc without all the extras, but it works like a normal retail disc. All it doesn't have are the extras like manuals and CD case inserts.
Well an OEM game is a game that is shipped with things like video cards. Take morrowind for example. I hear that when you buy some video card(not sure wich one), you get morrowind OEM version with it. But it says you cannont install any mods or expansion packs with it. It also doesnt come with any manuels or maps.
Thats what I figure half-life 2 is going to be. They said thier going to ship 3 versions. One with single player and multiplayer, one with just single player, and one with all three(If I'm not mistaken). If thier going to suply half-life 2 with a video card, I think they're going to give you the shittiest version with the least amount of things as possible.
But I dunno.....
he is. seriously, he is.Quote:

You may be correct slammy. I do hope you get one with everything. I'm just wondering wich version it will be out of the three versions they're going to have...
3 versions of hl2....i know what im gettin...im gettin the 80 bux one which has the leather case and a lot of extras oh yeaaaaaaaaa
it takes commen sense do you really think ATI paid 6 Million to have a crappy version packed with their cards then put the price of an over clocked 9800Pro with a 500 dollar price tag?....Quote:
