[TL, SCC, RevTT, FTN, ScT] Best general purpose/0day tracker?

Hi all.

I'm trying to get to any of the most well-known general purpose trackers (TL, SCC, RevTT, FTN, ScT *rip*). All I want is nice pretimes and content, I don't care too much about speeds.

Which would be the best one? Maybe not taking FTN into account as I see it is quite hard to get in. The main reason for asking this is that I wouldn't like to be in redundant trackers. So, if you have to pick only one -or two- which one would it be? (especially content wise).

I'll try TL. Why is FTN so "popular" in requests? What sort of torrents does FTN have which TL doesn't?

you want to be a uploader somwhere or what ? one from the above mentioned trackers by you is enough

I would say SCC and revtt and you have anything you need :)
SCC is best for everything else but revtt have lot of xbox 360 games.
You should remember that scc is not easy place to keep good ratio :D

may you have to start with IPT if you want to maintain your ratio and know how to keep it ..

scc is the best for scene stuff, and TL is a good supplement to it because it is probably the best tracker that has scene and non-scene. but the problem with TL is too many people have been getting letters from using TL.

So i'd go with revtt or ipt as my backup to scc. if you want an even bigger breadth of content, then look at torrents.ru and zamunda (currently only available by proxy in most locations)

You forgot both PTM and TV.
From them all, I'd recommend you PTM and IPT.

I had a TL account when it first opened, had it for ages and forgot about it, only to realise that it had been disabled/removed. Such a bummer!

Well, what I meant is that idc much about the torrent seeding at 100kb/s, instead of 500kb/s. Yeah if it's seeding at 10kb/s pretimes are useless.

I'll have a look at TL first, I guess I'll be done with that one.

If you're downloading from home, TL and/or IPT would be the way to go - speeds are great and they're really easy to seed on. If you have a seedbox, you may like SCC, which has better pretimes (not the best ones, though - TV wins against them on a constant basis) and lots of other seedboxes.

SCC has two huge MP3/0-Day and Archive sections which are freeleech.

ton of freeleech. easy to keep your ratio up using it.

I took the stats right from both trackers.

I wasn't implying TV has better pretimes than SCC overall, but that the latter may find themselves needing to improve them in the future, if a tracker that was relatively unknown until recently is already "rocking" them a bit. Not that I care about pretimes anyway.

I've never really understood the appeal of PTM.

All the torrents download at a snails pace for me, and retention is less than ideal. Many old torrents are 1/0 seeders due to the no ratio structure of the site, and even with the robust bonus system it seems like people just desert the torrent after a couple of days. It just seems like there aren't enough users who are dedicated to the site.

I would say SCC and its easy to maintain ratio with all those freeleech packs. Next i would put revtt and tv as a tie. TV may pretime a bit faster but revtt has more leechers. If u have a slow connection then gft might be your best bet. Tough to get into though. I was on PTM but found shows were taking 30 minutes to download with 1 seeder stacked up.

close PTM for a whole year and i'm pretty sure members will start to care more and more as the site is "gaining value"... sad but true.

PTM is great after you push or buy 50gb up. it then becomes truly ratio free. if you download 50gb b4 uploading 50gb, however, you get demoted

really? weird... i've always thought they were a true ratioless tracker.

at least that was the rule back when i joined, maybe it's been changed

edit: no it's still the same. you become a probie, which i think you could stay as and leech 1 torrent at a time, and also i think they are stricter on you (i.e. can't get any warnings)

For me, it would be TL, IPT & SCC.

For Me TL Is The Best Tracker :D

There are fewer seedboxes, but the speeds are generally decent. On a new torrent, I'll usually get around 1-2MB/s, but if that uploader has just posted several other torrents, it might be 500kB/s. Yet my upload is usually at 3-4.5MB/s for the first few hours of downloading/seeding, so I'm sure most of the faster lines are maxing out. I tend to get lower download speeds because most of the OVH boxes are doing their internal thing at first. Since I rarely watch a movie within a month of downloading, it hardly matters. If download speed is all that is important, just wait for it to pop up on usenet, which I've done at times.

I don't know how old you're going back or in what categories, but I think in terms of HD content, which is all I browse, the site has very respectable retention. For example, I saw the oldest release of The Hurt Locker still has 40 seeds from 11 months ago. The activity on HD content is far above average for most sites and I think that might make it a better site for HD folks than it is for xvid users.

Im on both TL, revtt and ipt. Id say TL is the best of the 3.

I would say that TL is a good all-round tracker for the average user.
