Like the title says, when did the active users here begin to use BitTorrent?
Was around late 2005 or early 2006 if memory serves me correctly
I began using bit torrent in the year 2005 :P I still remember how fascinated and happy I was after I realised I could get games and movies and loads of other stuff for free :D

3 years ago but only on top quality sites for the last year. i spent 2 years in the dark before i saw the light

In truth i started my illegal d/l an warez sites like icewarez with all the xxx pop ups and thousands of dead links

Myself I really started in the beginning of 2005 when the local torrenting became big :)

I started in March of 2008.
ummm...don't have the best recollection in the world but off the top of my head, Torrentbits, FileList (yup...they were actually one of the better ones waaay back.) and Phoenix-Torrents. I'm sure I'm leaving out several but its been a while. Oh...and a ed2k/torrent site called SpankDonkey where I staffed besides Phx Torrents (R.I.P. *sniff sniff*).Quote:

It took me a while to find out about Demonoid, and all subsequent private trackers. I'd say around 2006.
I Started in 2007, The only sites I really use are Revtt, Tl, and a Elearning site. Im very new to forums. I just use to go one the site see what movies and music or anything im interested in. I read and follow the rules of all my sites. I used to use the tpb, until i was invited to a private site. I been reading through the forums and it mentions that people are receiving isp letters from downloading off of certain private sites. Is it safer to download off sites with a smaller member base or does it not matter?

Relative to other users, I guess I'm pretty new to this stuff.
I've only been using torrents since around ~March of this year.
Props goes to anyone who goes as far back as 2001, with those early bittorrent trading circles (I think it was mainly live bootleg music circles who were the VERY first to adopt bittorrent, right?).

I believe it was in 2006, though precisely when I cannot remember; had evolved on from Limewire - got tired of mislabeled gay pr0n and viruses galore.

I remember torrenting when SuprNova was a new site. I wanted to download anime, and I ended up at SuprNova. It was a long time ago. I was a little kid. :P

late 2007, it started with the cable company cutting off my internet. i went on the modem hacking forums, got myself free service, and got turned onto torrenting. Thats why i seed on business class speeds 24/7, its my own little way of paying em back for all the inconveniences they caused me. :shifty::shifty:
I got my Internet Connection at home on May 2009 , and that is when i started :D
