The "thank You" Campaign

I just thought of a great idea for Kazaa users. This idea requires no additional software or tech jargon.

Simply right click on each of your downloads, click "Send Message to this user" and type in a quick Thank-You! note to each one of them.

Many will have messaging turned off, and rightly so with all the Spam, but imagine a typical users' reaction. They see your message and think it's another Spam (many start off with Thank you for sharing!) and then they realize all it is, is a thank you. This will make them feel just a little better, and maybe they'll use Kazaa more if we share the love.

If you wanna be a cheap bastard (don't worry I do this too) write out your first Thank You note. Highlight the whole thing and hit Ctrl+Insert to copy it to the Clipboard. Now hit Send. Next one you open, merely hit Shift+Insert, to paste.

Let's try it. It certainly can't hurt anything.

PS - I'm not a Christian, if anyone's wondering. I'm a hippie. ;)

www.DanaSoft.com - they will give you one, too, and let you configure it. They'll give you a unique URL to yours with your customized options. It's pretty sweet.

Great idea...I've done it myself, considering i am still a noob it is the least I can do until I have a better grasp on all the Apps I can do to make this s*%t stay on line

All the Movies and Music I have DL'ed have payed for my computer 3x over...a simple thank you is the LEAST I can do :beerchug:

lol. I have an emule mod that allows to rightclick a client and send a quick "phuck you, bitch" and a "thank you". guess what button I pressed more often. and same thing with kazaa - I only open the messaging client to send a quick "phuck you, modem bitch, phuck off with your 1kb/sec" :angry: No, really, there is nothing to thank for. If my speed goes up, then only when I download files having 300+ sources, but then in most cases individual speed is still phucking low. sometimes I get 70 kb from just one person, but never for more than 1 min, which is nothing, 6 mb, so what? after 1 min. they always disappear and the modem people come back like zombies, torturing me with their "speed"

the-ninja69 - I like your avatar. Iron Maiden own. :D Once on the Disturbed boards people were bickering about who was better, Metallica or Megadeth (the age old debate) and I come on and say "It really doesn't matter, because Iron Maiden kicked the fuck outta both of 'em."

That about ended the debate.

Back to topic... I can't believe you guys don't get spam/porn IMs on Kazaa. I share all night, and every day when I wake up the next morning/afternoon, I get 1-5 of them.

I keep messages on because believe it or not I met a friend on Kazaa. Well, not someone I've met IRL, but we were talking on the Kazaa messaging system and we just exchanged AIM names and took it there, and keep talking every now and then.

Plus, I like when people ask me questions about the stuff I have. What I don't like, is when they forget to turn messaging on, and my reply basically falls upon deaf ears. :angry:

As for the name, well, I like mine. :D

Yep, I prefer to keep messaging on. Sometimes I meet some nice people and then i get there aim names and we chat. I like to always ask about the file I am getting or help someone with a file their downloading off of me too.

Iron Maiden is really good. Metallica is really good too. I have heard megadeath is good too but I haven't listened to them before. Metallica new stuff is crap but there old stuff was great B) .

I keep messaging turned on now, and I have never been sent any nasty messages. One time, somebody wanted to ask me a question about a program I have before they started to download it. Another time somebody said they liked one of the songs in my shared folder, and asked me if I have any more in the same style.

In future,tell them to use K-Lite instead, it will be better and safer for them.
