Yea
Yep
Try copying one to another directory, then deleting the original.
make sure you don't have thumbnail view on, make sure nothing is running in system try, try reboot and then delete or safe mode
just do this
1. Open up regedit
2. Goto HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.avi\shellex\PropertyHandler
3. Delete the "Default" value which should be "{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}"
Close regedit and try to delete the file now
i have the same prob when i try to delete some files. wat i do is, if it's in the shared folder, i go into klite, and delete the file in there. always works... and saves frustration... try it if u want to delete something...
just do the tweak with the registry and never worry about it again
that's only for .avi's.Quote:

He can't move anything
I have windows xp setup file on my desktop and csnt delete it. Ive tried restarting and everything.
need to do it in safe mode, think its f8 or sometimes f10 at startup
I already tried it in safe mode to. :(
ANy other ideas.
what is the actual file extention ??
I dont know its not just that file its all kinds of different ones.
Thinking about it now you could also try good old DOS lol
now off the top of ma head and not using dos for a year the command is
Del :PATH::FILENAME:
Man why DOS came in to my head is quite strange <_<
If that doesn't work I've just found a post on google which *might* help:
load kazaa.. go to My Kazaa *where you do integrity ratings and such* and deleted the file from there.
It sounds obvious but oh well :P
It says invalin paremeter evey time I try to do it with ccommand promt.
just check this out (save me copyin out the whole thing lol):Page
And look at this : A little remark on this one. As you can read here, it can be quite a hassle to find a way to delete such a file. There's one tool that help you out easily, if you know how to work it: DOS. Boot dos from a floppy/CDROMand delete the file :).
If that don't work (happened to me once), boot Knoppix (Linux that boots from a CDROM) and delete the file that way. Always worked fine for me, any problem solved within 10 minutes :)
lol make sure ur kazaa is closed
if it aint workin go to safe mode and try if it works there tht means its sum program thts using the file(mayb another p2p program u mite have)
EDIT: i wuz drunk wen i posted this! <_< dint read properly
Read before you post <_< . Its been posted alreadyQuote:

HELLO?!?!? ANYONE EVER READ MY POSTS? if ur trying to delete something, put it in ur shared folder and delete it through kazaa. it works 100% of the time. TRY IT!!
you might try deleting it fromk inside kazaa.
It's supposed to work sometimes....I guess it's just a bug.
Good thing I don't use it :P
Abu I did read your post but I couldnt move the file to my shared folder. <_<
that's because of the cause of the error u got, of course u can't. This is an issue that can be resolved, if u still have the problem and willing to work with on resolving it, then I'll give u my commitment that we'll resolve it together. :)Quote:
