The very first 9500 pro's that came out were identical to the 9700 hardware wise, they just had 4 of the pipelines disabled. People were able to unlock the 4 extra pipes and flash with 9700 pro bios and it was practically a 9700 pro for a 9500 pro price. So they changed it from the L formation (ram layout) to the I form. Which is what you posted here.
Eventually, ATI dropped the 9700 line completely because it was too good of a deal overall.
If the L formation version is indeed the card he got and he felt inclined, he could turn it into a 9700 pro if he learned how.
I for one have a 9700 TX card I got with a DELL 4550 system last christmas. GREAT deal on the card, it was cheaper than a 9700 non pro, and just a couple mhz lower clock. But it's default 8 pipeline active and it's a real R300. Love the card.
i have the Radeon 8500, a bit old, but i works well, i get 80 fps on CS... DEFINTILY gettting the job done.... i also run the card witha a abit mobo with 3 gigs ram so...
i got a Matrox Parhelia, a radeon 7200 and one built into my motherboard. I wonder if i can fit a Radeon 9800 in there also?
Also if you add up the frame rates its way faster then any other card :)
mines a no name pos running at 64 mb
What province? and where?Quote:

but i like having the card overclocked. its gives me a feeling of complete satisfaction. plus it runs fast as hell with everything being able to run with 1600x1200x32 with 8x fsaa and 16x aniso at max detal running at 80-100fps average.
wont the video card overheat or blow cause your overclocking it..
