I use WinZip because I tried WinRAR one time and I didn't think it was really any better than WinZip.

Winrar without a doubt, opens files winzip can't and files that winzip says are corrupt.
winRAR all the way.
Handles both filetypes and more, compression is better, etc. etc.
RARLAB
WINRAR :D
ZIP/RAR/ISO/GZIP..etc anything and looks nicer. :P
I use both...
But Winrar seems the better choice

Get WinZIP off.

my winrar is asking me to pay for it :(
you never have to pay, it just kicks a nag error
just x-out and continue, if its that much of a bother, find a serial # or crack, but you really don't have to
Cracker, I did, and never regretted it. :D
winrar / winzip

I keep it installed for the occasional .ace archived download, but I never use it to create archives.
I prefer WinRar but it never seems to open .zip files properly. So Winzip for Zip Rar for anything else. Better to have both, theyre free anyway.
winrar hands down
Never had any problems with that myself.Quote:

any specific errors?
WinACE for me too. It does it all. :D
WinXP's built-in .ZIP support works perfectly fine for me. don't really need a special program for .ZIPs.
for other compressed formats i use WinRAR, and on very rare occasions i use StuffIt.
WinRar and IZArc
Not heard of that one sharedholder, but then again, you are the software king ;)Quote:
