Songs about killing people
Difficulty: No rap/hip-hop and no Google-list-paste. It should be a song that you know and like. Please describe a little about the song and how successful you feel it is in what it attempts to relay.
It's a bit of a bizarre request, but I have faith in you.

Nick Cave - Where the Wild Roses Grow feat. Kylie Minogue
Though at first it looks your romantic ballad, soon it turns into something much darker. An excellent example that not everything sounds like what it wants to mean.

Re: Songs about killing people
Probably a bit obvious but nonetheless a great track.
Rod Stewart - The Killing Of Georgie - Parts 1 & 2
Tells the story of his gay friend George, and his murder. Probably an unlikely candidate to make such a popular and catchy tune, sung to and whistled to by many when played on the radio etc.

Trivium - Down From The Sky

I believe this song is talking about the Hiroshima bombings that occurred during the final stages of WW2, or maybe just war in general.
Re: Songs about killing people
Jim Carroll - People Who Died
A hard-driving punk masterpiece from his 1980 album "Catholic Boy." The title is self-explanatory; supposedly it is about all of Carroll's friends who died for a variety of reasons (suicides, overdoses, accidents, murders...). Quite a catchy tune given the subject matter is a list of fatalities. Features a simple yet satisfying singalong chorus that was a crowd pleaser at many house parties where this tune ended up on the turntable. Last year, at age 60, Carroll himself became a person who died.

Nazareth: The Ballad of Hollis Brown
From the 1973 album “Loud n’ Proud.” A massively heavy version of the Bob Dylan ballad about a desperate farmer who kills his family and commits suicide. Nine minutes of a droning fuzztone guitar, hypnotic beat and wailing vocals that build menacingly to the inevitable conclusion. For full effect, listen to this song when you’re home alone at night with the lights out, preferably during a thunderstorm.

Hey Joe- Jimi Hendrix.
She done him wrong...so he shot her.
Fabulous backing vocals.
Peg and Pete and Me- Stan Ridgway.
Musical noir, think The Postman Always Rings Twice.
Cell Block Tango- from Chicago.
A great, high-energy song from my favorite musical.
Re: Songs about killing people
Saves The Day (one of my all time favorite bands) and their song, "As Your Ghost Takes Flight" :
"As Your Ghost Takes Flight"
The last time that I saw you, August of '99,
I should've had my hammer and a few rusty spikes
to nail you on a wall and use bottles to catch your blood
and display you for the neighbors so they know your time had come.
And I'd drink your blood and feel it dripping down my throat
as it heads for my heart.
And as your body sags and the stench rises in vain,
the people on the street are collecting in dismay.
Before your eyes your head lifts towards the sky
and that's the last thing they'll remember of you.
And I'd drink your blood and feel it dripping down my throat
as it heads for my heart.
You've become a ghost.
You're floating somewhere in between
the waking world and a landscape of dreams.
Well it's nothing but dying.
You've got a grenade stuck in your teeth and you're pulling at the pin.
You're an illusion, just a shadow flickering underneath the sun.
And I'd drink your blood and feel it dripping down my throat
as it heads for my heart.
Re: Songs about killing people
Also from the wonderful band, Saves The Day...
AT YOUR FUNERAL
This song will become
the anthem of
your underground
You're two floors down
getting high in the back room
If I flooded out your house
do you think you'd make it out
or would you burn up before the water filled your lungs?
And at your funeral
I will sing the requiem
This song will become
the anthem of
your underground
You're two floors down
getting high in the back room
If I flooded out your house
do you think you'd make it out
or would you burn up before the water filled your lungs?
And at your funeral
I will sing the requiem
I'd offer you my hand
it would hurt too much to watch you die
And you can bet
when we mourn the death of you that night
of you that night
They'll lay me on the dinner table
I will be the pig
with the apple in my mouth
the food that celebrates your end
And at your funeral
I will sing the requiem
I'd offer you my hand
it would hurt too much to watch you die
And at your funeral
I will sing the requiem
I'd offer you my hand
it would hurt too much to watch you die
Re: Songs about killing people
More from Saves The Day:
The moon hangs like the blade of an axe tonight,
and it's poised to drop sometime soon enough on this dump truck where I lie mixed up with the morning's trash.
There's a piece of glass sticking in my back and tar covering my mouth.
But it's okay cause I'm still breathing and my hands are free of the heap.
when I think that I see that big blade falling.
And I think that I see that big blade coming.
And the pressure is getting to me and the waste in which I sit is just lurking beside me.
And I can't tell if it's me or the meat that's rotting.
I'm gonna have to give up sometime soon.
But it's okay cause I'm still breathing and my hands are free of the heap.
when I think that I see that big blade falling.
And I think that I see that big blade coming.
You can watch me disappear.
You can watch me.
All I'm losing is me.
All I'm losing is me.
All I'm losing is me.
And I think that I see that big blade falling.
And I think that I see that big blade coming to slice open a great canyon through the earth so you can watch me disappear.

Saves The Day-- Certain Tragedy:
And now I finally see that the further we go we're only treading ground that we already know.
I could write you a song, send you a note, or empty out your trash and buy a bucket full of diamonds but
even the most beautiful of all roses must someday crumble to dust and fade away.
It's a certain tragedy.
So it's on into the lonely nights and all the rest of it.
The empty space between me and the sunken walls and feeling someone's hand around my neck
choking away the life that i have left.
And I can finally see that the further I go I'm only treading ground that I don't wanna know.
I'll probably hang upside-down from wooden rafters in my home and look at old photos of you.
So it's on into the lonely nights and all the rest of it.
The empty space between me and the sunken walls and feeling someone's hand around my neck
choking away the life that i have left.
I miss the warmth of the summer when we were on our own, but now it's winter and my bones are cold.
And now I finally see that the further we go we're only treading ground that we already know.
I could write you a song, send you a note, or empty out your trash and buy a bucket full of diamonds but
even the most beautiful of all roses must someday crumble to dust and fade away.
It's a certain tragedy.

I was referring to you having so much time on your hand that you'd post lyrics. As far as STD, never heard of 'em.
Re: Songs about killing people
