Extending the Bush Tax Cuts

I cannot believe there is so much outcry from Democrats about extending the Bust Tax Cuts for everyone. From my perspective, a small business which makes less than $250,000 per year is not doing very well, and is probably headed for bankruptcy. Or it is just a one-man operation like a plumber or electrician, etc. I would dare say that the majority of small businesses make more than $250,000 per year, so a tax hike on them will cause them to pull back on their spending and job creation. I know if our taxes went up, we would have to put off some major purchases until later. And I've had some conversations with some of our customers who said they are delaying major acquisitions and trying to just sit back and wait out this presidency--hopefully just two more years of this nonsense and it will all be over.

What I would like to see is a flat tax. And make everyone pay, no exceptions and no deductions of any kind. Even if a person made just one dollar per year, they should have to pay a percentage of that dollar back in taxes. Maybe then, when the people getting all the government handouts have to pay taxes, they will be a little bit more concerned about reducing government waste, and perhaps they would feel some of the bite from taxes and want to lower them. Right now, many of the people who get government entitlements pay no federal taxes at all, so what do they care if the government raises taxes on everyone else? Make them pay their fair share, too.

I would like to point out that this is total horseshit.
Businesses will spend what they must to expand their business, costs are passed on to the consumer as usual.
There were far more jobs created during the Clinton admin than the Bush era, even with Bush's tax cuts.

As for "small businesses" there was a deduction in the plan that was filibustered. "Small businesses" is defined in a peculiar way as well.
After deductions, loopholes and other various accounting methods most companies pay very little tax.
Funneling money abroad or just moving their "headquarters" abroad means American companies making billions can pay zero tax.
In 2009 Exxon made a profit of $35 billion, they paid zero federal tax.

The problem nowadays is that small and large businesses aren't hiring to begin with. Yes there are some exceptions but for the most part businesses are holding on to the extra money they are making and making their workers work more. Today workers are working 2 and half times more than they did 20 years ago and getting paid far less. I say tax the well to do $250,000+ and tax even more the wealthy. How much does someone need to live comfortably: 30mill, 60mill, a billion? How much money is enough? When we have CEO's and other officers of the company making several hundred times more than the average worker, I say tax the sons of bitches. If they don't want to pay their people other than table scrapings, the people that make them the money, then the hell with them. Tax the shit out of them. The middle-class is already eroding away because of this huge disparity. The rich are getting richer and the poor getting poorer.

And no, not everyone pays the same amount of taxes like you stated. The vast majority of the people getting government "entitlements" like welfare, medicaid, social security, etc., pay little or no federal taxes at all. Some of them even get "Earned Income Tax Credits" where they actually get money back from the government after having paid no taxes whatsoever. It is redistribution of wealth.

A flat tax would take care of that. They would have to pay a percentage of their income, no matter what the source, nor how much they make, back to the feds in taxes. Then they would feel the bite from taxes and maybe they would not feel so giddy about raising taxes. Right now they vote for people who promise to give them aid and government services, and they don't care how much it costs the government because they don't pay any taxes at all. They are essentially voting themselves raises by voting for Democrats.

To be honest, I haven't researched that so I can't say. But I would guess that the dip in job growth, if there was one, had nothing to do with the tax policies, and it would probably would have been worse without the tax cuts-- in fact, as my cousin just said to me right now while I am typing this... the tax cuts were in response to the recession caused by 9/11. So they were not the cause of the dip, but a response to the dip, and the dip probably would have been worse without them.

Yes everyone pays the same amount and if the upper rates are not extended everyone still gets the same tax cut extension, even millionaires.
Millionaires pay the same amount on $199,999 as I do. Actually they probably pay a lower effective rate after their accountant figures out all the loopholes.

Like I said, they don't pay Federal tax, and the Federal government is where they get most of their handouts. They need to feel that tax bite to break them from thinking it's all just free money raining down on them. They need to know where that money comes from.

I would like to see every person who applies for food stamps or welfare of any kind be permanently sterilized, to end the cycle of poverty. As for gays, I don't care what they do as long as I don't have to see it in public. As for Muslims, I wish they didn't take their religion so seriously. It seems like most Jews, and many Christians have finally mellowed out to the point where their religion is just not that big of a deal to them anymore. I wish Muslims would do that. I mean, rioting over a cartoon? WTF? Some artists stick Jesus on a cross in a jar of urine and Christians don't riot in the street over it.

Ok let me rebut you remarks:

Your first point is wrong. Even before Obama was in office, businesses have been holding on to their money. Production is up yet the amount that an average worker does too is up in contrast. People are working more and more for less pay and it didn't start with Obama.

$250,000 is a lot of money for a salary, which what I was talking about. You are very well off if you are making that in a year.

Greed is what also causes irresponsible behavior. Case in point, the latest economic meltdown. Like I said before, how much money is enough for one damn person? Jesus do people really need billions to live on while other people are living pay check to pay check? Share the wealth with your workers is all I am saying instead of hording it. Also you can want wealth and not be greedy. Greed is saying that you want wealth but whatever you get won't ever be enough. That is the problem.

Do I want a depression? No. However the rich have already almost caused that on a much larger scale, global depression, without being extra taxed. If it wasn't for the American tax payer bailing these idiots out, we would of had a global depression thanks to greed and irresponsible behavior. I challenge you to do research on this. You will find that major investment banks caused this economic down turn through trading of toxic assets, Credit Default Swaps (OTC Derivatives). Congress talked about regulating these derivatives but have yet to do it. Guess what, it will happen again, trust me.

Upward mobility? Ohh you are talking about the American dream, right. Wait didn't I post an article detailing the eroding of the middle-class? You other remarks are sort of right except for the mentioning of Donald Trump.

I am not against small business at all here. I am against these corporations, banks, and elitist pricks that hold the majority of the wealth and have our proverbial balls in their hands.

"Food stamps or welfare of any kind" is all it takes to qualify for your modest proposal...how's your grandma on Medicare going to like forced sterilization?
Not to mention every farmer who gets a government subsidy, every one who collects Social Security, etc., etc., etc.
That's a whole lot of pissed off- albeit sterile- people.

Here's a good question for you, would you rather live under the system we currently have-- which was pretty much put in place by those evil Christians you despise so much-- or Sharia law?

As for ending the cycle of poverty, the current system rewards mothers who cannot care for the one child they already have by giving them more money if they get pregnant over and over again. They get more money and services for each additional child they have. I have seen them standing out in front of the D.E.S. office with a line of stairstep children behind them. Sterilization would bring that to an end. Another solution would be to simply not increase the amount of government aid they receive, no matter how many children they had, and over time, it would discourage them from having more children.
