I feel kinda bad tonight after watching lord of the rings the two towers.

watch all six films in the star wars saga, i did it recently (spread over a few days as I'm not an unemployable doletard) and it was quite rewarding. I found that I'd never watched any of the films from beginning to end before. there's a good HD torrent on tpb, 'bout 16 gigs I think.
btw, late afternoon != tonight
The first 3 star wars he made are ok.
The last 3 films don't count that much they have none of the original cast members, like the little people from willow and the green cross code man them or that babe princess leia.

Well. I really liked the orsum battle scenes in part II and part III, the first one just seemed like a kiddie film - and not the good kind.

As for the original episodes; I find it stunning how 3 mediocre films have made such a cultural impact.
However, I thought Harrison Ford was good, and I love the whole 'force' concept.
Yeah I just watched Indiana jones raiders of the lost ark, the first 2 films were fun, he's also good in the fugitive, when he's being chased and loosing his temper he acts well and stuff.

That's it, it says it was made in 1979.
those were the best years for space films and tv.
some of them were really shit though,

Btw I still believe everyone's entitled to their opinion.Mine just happens to be that the(major)battle scenes were overblown,needlessly confusing and totally devoid of any real drama as they lacked intimacy.Great battle scenes work because amid all the shouting ,bombs and running around willy-nilly there are still people that we have some vested interest in at the core.That's why a director is constantly cutting between overviews and individual characters.It's emotionally easier to deal with sending your cow off to the slaughterhouse if you haven't named it Kenny.

What makes a battle scene work for me is only partially about emotional investiture. The tactical side always interests me so I like it when the skilled few defeat, or hold off, the spastic masses. And big bangs and spaceships help. I'm fine with directorial cuts as long as they make me vaguely aware of what's happening in each part of the overall battle and don't even mention the love interest until the last blow is struck.
I realise that I hold a more simplistic view than you do. Dissecting movies is not for me.
Oh, my point about the impact was that it was such an impact.
