You are going to pawn a CD?
What's that worth, a nickel?
toothpaste
humm thats the second time someone has said that maybe i should try it. Still sounds dumb though but maybe its just me

First you ask a question that you already have the answer for, then you say you can't figure out how to remove toothpaste from plastic?
Give me a break.

That wasn't very nice.
Indulge me, though.
How is this intended to "fool the local pawnbroker"?

wasnt taking to u, and at my local pawn shop they just look a the cd and if it looks good they just hand over the money
Pledge furniture polish. Let it dry a bit before you buff it. It might take a few applications to fill a deeper scratch.

If you cannot figure out how to get toothpaste off some plastic then I don't understand you.
Did you ever brush your teeth? How did you get the toothpaste off the plastic toothbrush?

Personally, I use a ultrasonic cleaner followed by a quick trip through the beadblasting cabinet.
How about you?
BTW, I don't think that either of these methods would be very good for a CD...
dip into a strong acid
hehehehehehehehehehe FIRE :flame:

toothpaste is soluble in water
if you use water, you negate the effect of adding the toothpaste to the cd (to a large extent)
lol all ur doing with the tooth past is useing it as a buffing compound to buff the scratches out with after u buff them out just wash it off
lol ur not trying to fill the scraches with tooth past
toothpaste works because it is a mild abrasive (don't use the toothbrush though).
metal polish works as well - another mild abrasive.
using these methods works, but it does leave the suface looking slightly dull
Staring at cd's is not really a hobby so it don't matterQuote:

No - but it might be the pawnbrokers hobby :)

Not only that... There have been other topics in the past that dealt with scratched CDs. Here's a couple:Quote:
