BTJunkie Has Shut Down
On btjunkie.org you are greeted with the following: '2005 — 2012 This is the end of the line my friends. The decision does not come easy, but we've decided to voluntarily shut down. We've been fighting for years for your right to communicate, but it's time to move on. It's been an experience of a lifetime, we wish you all the best!

File sharing related sites seem to be throwing in the towel. I wonder who will be next.

Re: BTJunkie Has Shut Down
For public torrents I just use Google and try to avoid the fakes. Demonoid, TPB and Vertor are also good.

Yes, people "still" use public trackers. Private sites don't have everything - there's no place or method that does. Public trackers can be stellar for those files that are now very old or rare.

Re: BTJunkie Has Shut Down
exactly right they are only good for new stuff private trackers... if I am after a movie from 1974 thats a B movie it will not be there... kickasstorrents i think its called is another good Alt

Re: BTJunkie Has Shut Down
That is a bummer...One of my first stops when looking for music or a request to fill of some obscure flick. Will check out Kickass...

Re: BTJunkie Has Shut Down
I remember when Suprnova closed in 2004. There was mass panic, since Suprnova was the biggest torrent site by far.
But things soon recovered, and Torrentspy emerged as the most popular site, until it was cut down a few years later. Then Mininova stepped up to be the #1 site, until it was forcibly castrated.
Sure, I'll miss BTjunkie, which for a half-dozen years was one of my go-to torrent sites, but there are plenty of good alternatives.
I actually think that these ongoing die-offs can in some ways be helpful, since they clear the path for newer and better sites to emerge.

It's a DDoS attack according what was posted in the "trackers down and up" thread. One of many that has taken place recently...

Any ideas how long the previous ones lasted?

Re: BTJunkie Has Shut Down
Well, HDBits' attack took some days if I remember correctly, and BitMe is still down.

I Had This Problem Recently, I Was Trying To Find A Movie Scorched 2008. The Only Place I Could Find It Was On NewsGroups & Its One With Hard Coded Non English Subs & Was An Actual DVDRip (VOB). Still Until I Find A Better Copy That Will Have To Do.

What has this got to do with the topic of - Of The closing Of BTJunkie???????
This is NOT the Help section of locating a Video

I Was Showing That Public Trackers & Private Trackers Do Have Their Place. I Normally Use FileHosting Sites Or Newsgroups, I Am Even On A Private Tracker, But Sometimes You Need A Public Tracker To Find Stuff & With Big Players Shutting Down, It Will Make Things Harder. PS I Have The Movie, I Am Not Asking For People To Locate It For Me.

If you are keeping score and the pointless capitalization didn't already give you a hint ,troll account.

Re: BTJunkie Has Shut Down
I Wonder Why Some People Write Like This. I Find It Sort Of Stressing To Capitalize Every Word In A Sentence Instead Of Following Simple Grammar Rules.
BuT hEy, At LeAsT iT's A BiT mOrE rEaDaBlE tHaN tHiS.
IS IT NOT?

Re: BTJunkie Has Shut Down
Actually it is not a troll account, I thought FST might be a good site to check out compared to some of the other sites I use. I originally came here looking for a nice NZB RLS RSS Feed. Site looked nice & I thought I might become an active member on the forums.
There is a reason I type in Title Case, but that is a whole other story. I can type just as quick Title Case or Sentence case.
As for FST being a nice place on the forums, well so far I have yet to see that, in fact I have seen the opposite.

Well, naturally you'll see it that way. There are 4 assumptions made for anyone new posting on this forum.
1. Somebody building up their post count only to get invites.
2. Troll account.
3. A duplicate account of an existing member.
4. A duplicate account of an existing member to be used exclusively for trolling.
*5* Secret 5th reason is that it's the daily J-Dye account, but then those don't require assumption in most cases as they're fairly obvious.

1. This site has invites? I referred someone & didn't need any invites.
2. Well that's true, but not here to Troll
3. Check IP, Not a former member, just looking for a new place to talk FileSharing & the use of the NZB RLS RSS Feed
4. Check IP, Not a former member, just looking for a new place to talk FileSharing & the use of the NZB RLS RSS Feed
5. I assume this is a user you have had issues with previously? (Just Looked Up His Name, I See The Issue You Have Had).

It's all a solid defense, but still would require that I must submit to taking you at your word, also I can't see your IP address. For the time being, in order to share with you my trust, you will now be my dupe account.

New site?
I saw the same name 2-3 days ago just before a torrent name which I've downlaoded from demonoid.

Btjunkie was way too public. Mininova was so much better, really do miss it. :([COLOR=#fafafa !important]
