Thanks for the heads-up. Installed and enjoying...
I'm a fan of VLC so this is pretty good news, cheers :)
i hope that gpu decoding is improved because i was getting screen flickering with the older version
I would like to see Motion Interpolation supported. Hopefully soon...
Good news, VLC and Media Player Classic Home Cinema are the best
I hope to see 64-bit version of VLC in the near future
Anyone knows how to get it to Ubuntu 10.xx ?
Cabalo we need to wait for the ppa i guess.
Add this to your sources.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:n-muench/vlc2
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install vlc
Doesn't work, I had already attempted that one.
It continues reporting 1.1.6 as the latest available version.
I'll switch when they let me pause by left-clicking anywhere at the screen. I'm demanding like that...
If I remember right, the way I got vlc2 to install was by following this:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-ubuntu.html
The steps about the universe repo in sources.list, find universe in that file and uncomment the line.
But I'm on 11.10, not 10.04. ;)
I could be wrong though, I tried a lot of things before finally getting it to install.
checkout http://www.nzbsrus.com/nzbbrowse.php...ubunta#schplch
for ubuntu 11+
But for 11+ I know how to do it, I really can't manage to find a way to run it on 10.xx
