Graphic = Xbox :lol:
Games = PS2 B)
PS2- As for the post before mine different games have different graphics on both systems Take Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (PS2) Project Gotham (Xbox) PS2 looks much better the cars and everything.
xbox is much much better especially for online games
PS2
XBOX - even though its microsoft, i prefer it (but only with the new pads)
xbox
Go the Xbox. If you look at some of the MUCH older posts, you can see some good comparisons between the two systems. Go and have a read...
playstation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! period .
Id say ps2 , because lately i havent seen any good interesting games for Xbox , except the gta duoble pack.
I say go with ps2 because it has the best games in my opinion , such as gran turismo , metal gear solid , grand theft auto, final fantasy , virtua fighter , etc....
xbox, the online play with xbox live is great!!!!
Maybe that means there's a big batch on the way then? Wishful thinking though...Quote:

Again it's a matter of personal preference, as there will always be some games that are exclusive to each system. But if you read the reviews at ign.com for games that are available on all three current systems, you'll see that in almost every instance they agree that the graphics look best on Xbox. Right now the only real advantage PS2 has is it's exclusive games, but that's starting to change (GTA anyone?). Microsoft on the other hand is making a lot of it's own great games like Halo, Crimson Skies, and Brute Force, which will never be available on any other system (except maybe PC). They also own RARE now, the company that made Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Banjo-Kazooie, and many other great games for Nintendo, so those licenses will now be Xbox exclusive. But PS2 is nice if you already have a PS1, since you can still use your old controllers and games.
All in all it's a very difficult choice, but I went with Xbox because on the faster processor, built in hard drive, exclusive games that appeal to me, and I just like the feel of the new controller (I was never a fan of the old PS ones). Tell your friend I encourage him to go to a store that has both systems and try them out to see which one looks and feels better to him. Then head over to ign.com or Gamespot.com and read reviews for some of the games that interest him for each system. That way he can truly make an informed decision.
XBOX,
reason 1: mircosoft, you make an emulator bill gatez will sue ur ass
reason 2: online playing free xbox live
reason 3: all my friend's ps2 burned out, they say ps2s always does that(u have to buy warrntees after it burns out it can't play anything)
reason 4 : heard lots and lots of people say that the xbox 2 wut ever it gona be called is suppose to be a simple version of xbox(means small less stuff)
(HIDDEN REASON): mod chips copy games, copied game can't go online but works on single player.
reason 5: articles say when every bill makes an xbox he loses 100$ rip the crap out of him!
yeah and then you buy three xbox games published by MS and he gets his $100 back.Quote:

Yup, almost all systems (especially at launch) lose money on every system sold and make it up on licensing and publishing.
This topic is old.
PS2 is good for exclusives only. That means a game like say Ratchet and Clank or Gran Turismo.
The Xbox is good for EVERYTHING ELSE.
Any game made for PS2 and Xbox is better on Xbox which therefore shrinks the usefulness of the PS2 to exclusives. Take Burnout 2. It's better on Xbox all the way. The graphics and online play demolish the PS2. GTA on Xbox is a no-brainer even though it is an older game from the PS2.
Get a PS2 for the same reason you might get a GC.
For SPECIFIC good games not found elsewhere.
Ps2's are great (compared to Mastersystems  )
Get an xbox!
This is one of the hardest choices someone will ever make in life :D
My advice is to get both... But if you can't afford it, Go for Xbox.
Like alot of other people have said, most PS2 games are being ported over to Xbox with superior everything, if a game is a hit on PS2 it's only logical that the developers and publishers will want to make more money by porting it.
Also, Xbox may not have a lot of games now, but it's only been out for two years, PS2 has almost been out for almost four (From the Japanese launch)
Xbox has the best future, because being the most powerful, it will be a more viable system to work on in a few years when PS2 can no longer handle more demanding games. But for really original and wierd games you won't see anywhere else, go for Gamecube... Which I personally don't like.
I own PS2, Xbox and Dreamcast and love them all to bits! But I'll admit that Xbox will be around longer the PS2. Xbox also has more features then a PS2 when you get a mod-chip for it. And tell your friend that whatever system he goes for... He has to get a chip!
Ok, i had a word with him, showed him this forums veiws, and he gettin a ps2!
lol, thx for the points guys, it really helped him.

Iam a massive fan of PS2 and it is my favourite BUT Xbox has much more reliability in gameplay, has anybody noticed that FIFA 2004 jumps and freezes and you can see through players shirts!!! but if you play the game on Xbox everything is fine no stupid glitches or freezes
I still think PS2 is best basically because it has the most variety of games and im afraid will never match up to the power of the PS2.
The new PLAYSTATION console is comin out next christmas it will be called the PSX it records from T.V onto recordable discs and graphics will just blow any competitors away
THATS ,Y VIEW
HE WILL HAVE FUN WITH HIS PS2
I believe you mean '...will never match up to the power of the Xbox.' (not to the power of the PS2)Quote:

And the PSX blowing away the other competitors is untrue, as it is just a PS2 with other features added on, it's graphics will be no better and no worse than the current PS2's, but will have other features like D.V.D. Recocording, which will make a lot of buyers stay with there PS2's.
I don't have either console, so I could careless which you buy, I'm still hapyy with my Sony PSOne and Sega Dreamcast.
The next PS will be a handheld... The graphics are the same as a PS 1 ... Nothing spectacular... Except for handheld consoles... Won't compete with PS2 though.Quote:

The next PS, the PSX, has already been anounce, and that sure isn't hand held. But the next generation maybe, or Sony may be tring to enter the mobile gaming leuge again, anyone remember the Sony PocketStation?Quote:

Shit.. I'm thinking of the PSP (Playstation Portable)
I though the original Playstation was referred to as the PSX... Is the PSX the PS3 in other words?
Yes, the original Sony PlayStation was unofficially known as the PSX, but is now reffered to as PS or PSOne. The PSX is not the next generation console (is not PS3). The PSX is the PS2, but with an upgraded D.V.D. Drive with the capability of writing to D.V.D.'s. It also has a built-in Hard Disc Drive, and other features that I can't remember. But basically, it is a TiVo (I think that's what you have in the U.S.A. - I wouldn't know couse I don't live there...) with a built in PS2. So the PS2 unit in it is no upgrade or superior qualities to a normal PS2. Hope this is making sense... The PS3 is still due to come later on, and my personal opinion is that Sony is using the PSX to test when the market will be ready for the PS3 - as I'm sure they will follow on the successful features of the PSX to the PS3.Quote:

There is also a rumor that Microsoft will be doing something similar with the Xbox and it will be called Xbox 1.5. It's probable features include a larger standard hard drive and D.V.D. recording capabilities. If your interested in more information on either, there's a lot of articles around about them.
To all you "PS2 has exclusive games" people:
Bill Gates will buy 'em all, then you'll be left with nothing :P
Just joking really, I have no preference whatsoever of these consoles, since I don't own any of 'em. I'll probably get a cheap PS2 for like £20 after the PSXs come out though.
the psx is going to retail at 900 dollers <_< i heard at least, why spend 900 dollers when you could buy a dvd recorder for like 200 then a ps2 for 170 then just stack them on top of each other and you got a psx for less money :D
It Also Has A 250GB HDD And An Online Adapter Built InQuote:
