COD MW3
I'd say Silent Hill 2, GTA SA or Half Life 2, but I'm totally addicted to MW3 and mostly just play that every day. It's not the best game but it's the most fun & addictive.

Manhunt 1 + 2 PC, uncut and uncensored. Closely followed by Planescape Torment. Call of Duty is nothing more than brainless entertainment.

Although Final Fantasy VII would come as a close second.
What do I like about these games? Well, finish them once and you'll be amazed by the depth of their world, story and game mechanics. This effect is bigger in ADOM since there's a ton of race/class combinations you can choose, and most levels are randomly generated upon entry (plus due to rather unforgiving difficulty, you will generate a lot of them). Play them again and you will find things you missed before. Little details if you will. Do another playthrough and you will find more secrets you also missed. And so on. More than 15 years later, people are playing these and still finding new things regularly.
