What would be a good seed box hosting provider?
Could someone please recommend a good seed box hosting provider? I'm looking for a good and decent one. I had the $6/month with seed.st but that wasn't good for me. I'm willing to spend a little more. Would anyone be available to please recommend one for me. I don't know any of the types of seed boxes. For example, there are VPS and I don't know any other ones so I don't want to pick a wrong one then I will end up spending it for nothing. Thank you for the help!
Re: What would be a good seed box hosting provider?
FeralHosting if you are looking for no non-sense though there is OVH which is a dedicated provider
Re: What would be a good seed box hosting provider?
Thank you!

That is the link to OVH. What exactly am I looking for? I know I'm looking for a seedbox. Am I looking for a Dedicated server? Or VPS server? Or something else? Could you or someone please provide a direct link for the seedbox?

Re: What would be a good seed box hosting provider?
You can use the server as OpenVPN as well , just remember its a dedicated server so you have to install everything from your end no software support is provided but there are scripts available which makes your job easier

Re: What would be a good seed box hosting provider?
Do you know if they have a similar link to what you posted but does it on a Windows 7 desktop PC? I'm asking because I don't run and don't use any type of Linux.
Second, that link above to the servers such as KS 2G. It said 12.99 and I did a Google search to see how much it would cost in US dollars and it said $20.06. I don't have cash on my card but just for fun I tried to order it to see if it was $20.06 and it came out over and more then $100.
Re: What would be a good seed box hosting provider?
Windows require license fee and Linux > Windows ,if you dont then you have to.
seriously were your eyes closed when ordered it ? There is a reason why its coming over 100.
I would recommend feralhosting since i dont think you would be able to do the setup
Re: What would be a good seed box hosting provider?
Alright, then I'll go with Feral Hosting.
Would you follow this link what the poster Choppers gave to set it up? http://www.torrent-invites.com/seedb...dbox-user.html
Then after following Choppers advice, would I need to follow this? https://www.feralhosting.com/faq/view?question=5
Then that would be it. BTW, if I would to get it then I would either order the Helium or Neon option.
Re: What would be a good seed box hosting provider?
Even if not you can also ask for support from feral hosting team

OVH defaults to a 3 month term for their servers, but you can select month to month when checking out. OVH also adds VAT onto their servers so for .co.uk it would be another 20% on top of whatever the monthly server rental cost is.

Thank you!
Also, if everyone is not aware already, I'm from USA and not UK.
I read somewhere on torrent-invites that Feral Hosting is not as friendly as responding to emails. I see that because I sent them around 4 or more.
Re: What would be a good seed box hosting provider?
Yeah it can happen but they are very responsive on there irc

Do they have Facebook/Twitter and are they very responsive on there?
Re: What would be a good seed box hosting provider?
IRC , FB and Twitter are just for marketing
Re: What would be a good seed box hosting provider?
I don't live in the UK. I live in the USA.
1.) would you prefer this tutorial if I was to get OVH? http://cheapseedboxes.com/how-to-ins...dedicated-vps/
My main system is Windows 7 and don't know Linux.
2.) You are talking about this KS 1 server, right? I am assuming so. https://us.ovh.com/us/cgi-bin/newOrd...&hard=132cask4
3.) I am assuming to follow that tutorial is to order the RAW distribution of Ubuntu 12.04 Server?
Or a better tutorial: http://filesharingtalk.com/threads/2...bian-Ubuntu%29
Re: What would be a good seed box hosting provider?
I'm very happy with http://seedboxes.cc/

Is probably the easiest and quite efficient although not good enough as compiling program yourself but that is much further ahead.

KS1 for seedbox is Overpowered considering you are limited to 100mbps. Go for kimsufi series and save some money?
Re: What would be a good seed box hosting provider?
From the US you can order through www.ovh.ie which could be cheaper than ordering one of the servers in OVH's Canada datacentre. Try one of the smaller Kimsufi's and then get something bigger later if you need it.
