TheBox closing

It is with great sadness that we must announce the closure of TheBox.bz, effective on September 1st. This decision has not been an easy one but, given the increasingly hostile climate towards torrent sites as of late, we feel it's a necessary move.

On September 1st, the torrent section of the website will be deactivated. As TheBox has always been as much about community as about sharing, forums and private messages will remain functional for a while longer. Afterward, we will securely wipe all account details before retiring the server for good.

Discussion and farewells are welcome here

Shame, it was a great tracker with loads of good content...

Always meant to ask, is there anything similar for American TV shows?

I'm not bothered about pre-times or anything else, more series indexed with good retention times. I don't watch TV excessively, but work away a lot so like to take whole series with me when I go away.

BTN is about the best.Great tracker. Ratioless. Great staff (unlike TheBox). Just don't catch promotion fever there.

I'll have a look at it. Do they have open sign ups very often? Or is it usually invite only?

Invite only, and apparently they're moderately hard to get. I'd try TVTorrents.

Invites are not impossible. The top user class have unlimited invites.

Sad to see them go and it looks like gft might be gone too. Seems like a good dozen of the trackers I liked have gone in the last few months.

Untrue. Sadly, there is no invite system, even for those who donate. From what I gather, the most active seeders, uploaders, etc were invited by staff after TheBox shutdown was announced.

Total Rubbish-and the conspiracy theories begin...how surprising. Actually I would be surprised if they hadn't started. The Box is no more, period!!! Someone could have used a little more imagination "zxcv.fm ??? really???? "The Box" was a great site while it lasted, and it's a shame they closed. Torrent section closed on Sept. 1st .... forums are still open but we are expecting them to pull the plug at anytime, kind of pointless now anyway. And seriously any site who makes it mandatory to Donate to be a member??? come on put the crack pipe down....GOOD LUCK WITH THAT ONE !!!
