Torrentfreak writes about it but I am still not sure it's an honetpot. I'm waiting to see if my login works and i any of my old torrents are indexed. How can you be sure?

Yeah it's called d2 and you can login.

No, the Demonoid tracker is working again, and according to This article, the actual (original) site should be back soon. But who knows :idunno:

If it's true, that's great news. I remember the tracker also came back shortly after their shutdown, but it was short-lived.

A tracert on the demonoid.me address takes you to Hengill in southwest Iceland. Scenic.

Re: Demonoid is back, but from where
That is not Demonoid, it's Demonii and doesn't have any affiliation with Demonoid. If Demonoid does come back, it will probably be at http://www.demonoid.me/

A lot of people put Demonoid down, but it was always my go-to tracker for programs and ebooks. Rarely was I unable to find what I was looking for there. I even uploaded there for a while. Over a TB of content actually ( & never one letter from any of the "AA's" or isp's) It's the only tracker I can say I have actually "missed" since it's been gone...and I've been in pretty much all of them :pinch:

I don't torrent much nowadays, but Demonoid was the first place I looked on when I had to find something old and/or rare. And there was a good chance of finding it there. In the regard, they were a fantastic resource (like a big virtual library as MBM often says) and I'm glad to hear they will be back.
That, and their return is a big middle finger to the fuckers who made it shut down. :D

So true! I still haven't found a good source for ebooks. Thats the one thing I still miss about Demonoid. That and the message forum. I met some really good people their.

Yeah I wouldn't trust it either.
-
Re: Demonoid is back, but from where
it was the best torrent site for obscure stuff.
-
Re: Demonoid is back, but from where
I didn't know it was back. I Love it.

Re: Demonoid is back, but from where
Well, this is not the first time for d2. Didn't they appear some time in 2012? Back then I did re-log in for the heck of it.
There wasn't anything in the way of torrents. Then I heard a few days later that it was a password trap. But hey
I don't really do torrents anymore. I was using the old Demoind more as a resources site. Too bad about its demise.

Re: Demonoid is back, but from where
I always assume the trackers are compromised, the RIAA has been doing that for years
-
Re: Demonoid is back, but from where
How can you tell if it's a trap?
-
Re: Demonoid is back, but from where
kickass.to has effectively replaced DemonoiD for me. Sure I would welcome it back, but I can live with out too
-
Re: Demonoid is back, but from where
ya i wouldnt trust it... kickass.to has been working for me
-
Re: Demonoid is back, but from where
I used Demonoid a lot also and would maybe try it out again for a few downloads to see if it is the same 'site' as previously. I be looking for some other observations to its operation once up.
