Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
Hi Everyone, I'm a massive fan of sci-fi films & tv series. I feel like I've missed quite a few though so if you could post some of your favourites hopefully they'll be something new that I havent seen.
Thanks

You mean like really fat?
Taking into consideration the odds of you ever looking at this thread again:
Battlefield Earth
Plan 9 From Outer Space
Zaat
Santa Claus Conquers the Martians
The Man Who Fell to Earth
Mars Needs Women
My personal favourite Robot Monster
and everything ever done by Andy Sandberg.

Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
Battlestar Galactica (2004) is one of the best that I can remember seeing in quite some time.
-
Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
thanks for the total film link
-
Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
Sunshine is a great movie
and Battlestar Galactica is a must-watch. great binge watching for a month

Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
I'll just drop some TV series into the bucket. There are a lot of amazing scifi shows out there, but you have to be willing to look to the past.
Dollhouse
Firefly
Star Trek: TOS and TNG
Stargate Atlantis
The Lost Room
The Outer Limits
The Twilight Zone
The X-files

Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
Cheers! That should come in handy :)

If you are that huge you really need to go for a walk and/or a swim rather than watching more sci-fi, fatty......

Except that Dollhouse was horrible.

Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
Well, its certainly the weakest on that list by far. But I still liked it either way and would recommend it. Definitely a hit or miss for many people though. Personally I really like the premise and the cyberpunk angle, it was starting to get pretty damn good but got cancelled early and rushed for an ending.
But it does lookk kind of out of place on a list with shows like Twilight Zone, X-files and Star Trek. But hey I'm not saying ya gotta like all 8 shows that I'm putting down heh. Different strokes.

Fringe was also a good TV series.

Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
Helix is a pretty good new show. It's got some decent horror/scifi themes.
-
Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
The tomorrow people is awsome. too bad it looks like it will be cancelled

I'd have to agree! With the current episode added to the previous I have, it will make a decent mini-marathon for tonight! :)
(I hope the series will garner more interest and it will stick around a while.) :alien:

Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
The Tomorrow People is indeed an awesome show and it seems that the story line is picking up. I'm hoping it's not too late. One show that needs to do better is Almost Human. I love that show.

Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
Battlestar Galactica rulez
The ultimate scifi series

Sunshine is actually half a great movie, imo. The first half is great. The second half is like an entirely different movie genre and imo sucks monkey testicles.

Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
Almost Human turned out to be a pretty cool show despite its lower ratings. It reminded me a bit of both Blade Runner and Dredd. Worth a look. :)

Irreversible is quite possibly my favorite romantic comedy.

Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
any suggestions on current shows along the lines of fantasy such as legend of the seeker?
-
Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
I just finished catching up on Warehouse 13. Didn't think I'd like it, considering it's a SyFy series, but it surprised me. It's actually pretty good. Sort of a rip off cross between Fringe and The X Files. Maybe not quite as good as those two, but it has it's merits. Definitely not boring & worth a watch.

Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
Fantastic new series called True Detective with Matthew McConoughy should be on your list
The original The Day The Earth Stood Still is always a good choice

Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
Continuum is worth a look too.

Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
for all it's issues.. defiance is okay.

Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
Helix -
A cross between Outbreak meets Highlander (as The Immortals Incorporated)
with a little Walking Dead thrown in.
I'm lovin' it.
-
Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
Firefly, original Star Trek series and strangely I used to like the original v series but a recent watch reveals how outdated it seems now
-
Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
Sitting on the fence about "Bitten"...
I do wish that someone would remaster and re-release "Babylon 5" on BluRay.
-
Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
Black Mirror is worth a look. I thought all of the episodes were great except maybe the Waldo Monent.

Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
The X-Files, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica and Dollhouse have been my faves. A newer series I've been into is Orphan Black though its second season hasn't been as good as the first one.

Re: Sci-Fi Films & TV Series Worth Watching
I think one TV series that gets overlooked a lot is 'Dead Set' .
It's a Zombie series, not SciFi per se, though .
