connection to localhost:9312 failed (errno=111, msg=Connection refused)

Just joined & paid for one month, to test the site out. Whenever I do a search, I get the above message. Is this due to an error on the website?

It happens a couple of times a year when the search backend breaks, and usually gets solved within a few days. I just e-mailed the administrator about it.

Anon: It isn`t the usual resolve address issue that came up in the past.... I still have those in my hosts file (on some of my PC`s at least).

I know, the administration switched from the regular vBulletin search engine to Sphinx many years ago, and this happens when the latter breaks.

You are in the know, how comes it can still be fucked after this long with people paying for a service? I`ve never paid myself (just given my time for free :S) so can`t bitch on that front.

Moved this here. This error occurs when the Sphinx database engine stops working, which seems to be quite often... RealitY should fix it soon enough.
