is it?
it's illegal ;) but who's keeping track? only shareman...
Why you wondering?
YES :o
No!
Kazaa isn't illegal, when the RIAA went to court the ruling was the application wasn't illegal even if some activity on it maybe.
Its ruled legal, but we all know that it is 100% peer pirating.Quote:

Kazaa Media Desktop (KMD) itself is a perfectly legal program. Kazaa Lite (K-Lite) on the other hand is a cracked or modified version of the original KMD. Now, according to the KMD license agreement, any modification of the original KMD executable is illegal and against the law. That makes K-Lite absolutely illegal.
But, till date Sharman has taken little steps to block illegal "Lite" distributions of the Kazaa Media Desktop. That is why you see so many websites on the internet serving "Lite" versions of KMD. Grokster, on the other hand has taken severe measures to uproot any websites that server "Clean" or "Lite" versions of the original Grokster. Hence you will find very few websites that actually host "Clean" versions of Grokster.
right
kazaa = legall
kazaa lite = illegal
sharing copyrite material with any program is illegal
i think the loophole is that you can get non illegal stuff from kazaa also like pics
or is that illegal also
anything that is has copyrite is illegal, if the pics have a copyrite then they also are illegalQuote:

Its not illegal to use Kazaa, just downloading copyrighted stuff using Kazaa is illegal. Besides, if you want to download copyrighted stuff, use IRC instead :D You can be sure of what you are getting.

goto mirc.com to find out what it it. It is good to get stuff that isn't on kazaa yet, but it is hard to find a good source.
no! not the tool - if you share our files which you own copyright ;)
depend on how you use it.
how can you say that kazaa isn't illegal. I mean you'd have to get on and do nothing for you not to download copyright stuff. Even porn, if its not copyrighted it is illegal to watch.
Ok! Dammit, you're all under arrest!!!
Officer I.M.Paranoid will be knocking on your door around 4 a.m.
Never said i care, i am just saying i know it's illagal. There no use in saying it's not. Dosen't mean i wont be using it.Quote:

OK, now I have to ponder something... follow me down the road I call "train of thought".
I hold the copyright license for a band, so I'm using Kazaa to distribute MY materials. I also have permission from another band (well, a direct request, actually) to distribute selected items of theirs, as well.
Those items are house separately and shared separately from everything else. Everything else are either photos that I don't share or MP3 versions of music I already have on CD, tape, or vinyl.
So, with that in mind, I ask this:
Are those "copyright infringement" pop-ups automated or are they hacking my hard drive? They're very aggravating, either way. If they're automated, then they're as good as spam and they need to check who holds the copyrights on the stuff coming off my machine (me) before hitting me repeatedly. Now, if they're hacking to get at other stuff, that's even worse than using the servers as the free advertising they are.
Thanks for your time.
kazaa is legal if you just dl the program but if you dl some music or movies some people may say thats illegal ;)
yeah.
you get the best speeds by downloading from yourself anyway.
irc = wait a couple days to get the download started, then wait a couple days to finish the download
i prefer emule for rare/big files and kazaa for music, smaller apps, and older games.
