did u uninstall the old version before installing the new?
yeah
Why don't you go back to the old version? Anyhow there's slight difference with the new one.
the old one kept crashing on my machine
I have checked but i can't see any firewalls, does anyone know how to do a thorough check? I also cannot see secure sites
you said the old one worked fine. now which is it buddy? :huh:Quote:

reinstall the whole program, i have a feeling you didnt uninstall the old version before you installed <_<
i have already done that, i have even uninstalled the new version and downloaded it again
ok.......... have you downloaded anything with the new version of kl, since you got it?
no
ok.... is there anything in "my shared folder"?
yes, the same files that were in the old version
ok. take all the files that are in "my shared folder", and put them in a temporay folder (make a new folder and put all the files in there)
then after "my shared folder" is empty, restart kazaa lite
trying that just now, thanks...says it will take 27mins :(
it says in the help that aol is one of the ISPs that may block KL
27 mins!, y would it take that long?/ all ur doing is moving the files to a different folderQuote:

OS is Window XP.
I had previously posted that I have checked under network connection and cannot see a firewall but if there is any other way of checking I would be grateful to hear about it as I cannot see secure sites either (SSL is activated)
Not a bad version of Kazza, tried three diff locations and all the same problem
have you disabled your xp internal firewall???Quote:

and again how are you connecting to the internet??? router, modem, what??? the more info you give me the easier and faster it is
Turned out that it was Norton Internet Security, even though it was disable and the XP and NIS firewalls disabled the ports were still blocked, the only was to get it working was to uninstall NIS! Now, what was that someone was saying about a registry medic, sounds like I might need it!!
