Will PTP and BTN give me a second chance?

So I got banned on PTP for invite trading and the mod passed my info to the BTN mod and got banned there too. These were like 10 year old accounts and they banned them without batting an eyelid. I guess tracker staff dont believe in second chances or giving a guy the benefit of the doubt for being a member for a freaking decade. I went to the PTP IRC and apologized but he wasn't in a listening mood and he banned me from PTP and also from their IRC channel. As if that wasn't enough, he passed my info to BTN and KG and those guys banned me too.

I don't know if the PTP mods visit this forum but I was wondering if there's a reasonable mod there who will give me a second chance? Since this is the biggest forum about Bittorrrent outside of trackers I thought I'd try.

Pleasantries aside, I commend the fact you didn't conveniently omit the true reason for your ban, but this is the torrent world. The odds of staff giving you a "second chance" are approximately 0%, and as far as they're concerned, why would they? You broke one of their golden rules and that's it.

Personally, I think revoking your invite privileges on the specific tracker you traded invites for would have been more appropriate. Of course, I have no idea of what it's like to run something with X users during my free time as an unpaid volunteer who is also always right, so I'm wrong and should shut the fuck up.

From my experience PTP doesn't normally hand down punishments from actions on other...lower tier sites. But PTP-BTN are like brother and sister sites.

You had PTP, I can't imagine what the other person had for you to trade. The punishment wouldn't have been so harsh if you just gave it away to some random - instead of trading.

Anyways what torrent site was worth PTP? You're at the top and can get into any other torrent site in their invite forum.

Trading used to be a commonplace and acceptable way to join trackers, but that changed a long time ago. I don't think anyone in the current generation of staff members have done it, considering this very thread is an example of the potential consequences.

Imagine if I was an anti-piracy rep and I had told that staffer that if he bans me instead of simply revoking my invite privileges, I would come after his site and do everything in my power to take it down, would he have taken the same action? I think not. So it was a powertrip for him than upholding their sacred rules. It's unfortunate that they don't understand their own hypocrisy and they can't give a well-intentioned member the benefit of the doubt. I mean what was I gonna do if I had my invites revoked and let me keep my account? Eat up the site? Chew up the files? Swallow their torrents?

What's funny is that I spoke to another staffer at a different torrent site and he said the punishment was too much and that makes me all the more sad and angry. I was just an ordinary guy with a love for movies. Shame this has happened. I think these staffers are devoid of emotion and humanity. Atleast he could've given me a timeout for say 6 months or even a year and reenable me after that. Don't understand why the ban(s) needs to be for life.

Still don't have a logical answer for why invoking my invite privs wasn't enough punishment. How exactly am I supposed to make up for my mistake if the ban's for life?

Get a fire stick. You can stop the silent cutting and have access to probably the same library again..

That sounds promising Funkin although I have my doubts if it can match PTP's catalog. But thanks though.

Well, I let my PTP and BTN accounts get disabled due to inactivity years ago so I don't even remember how big they were. But I can tell you that once I put the proper files on my firestick, there hasn't been a movie or tv series that I couldn't find. Due some searching and pimp your stick.

I was vaguely aware of Kodi and other means of pirate streaming, until Skizo made that thread explaining what it was and how it worked. Throw in the right addons and you'll have instant access to a huge library (which is why preconfigured boxes are such a contentious issue, with their sellers getting busted every now and then).

I haven't kept my install up to date since these days I'm lucky if I watch two or three flicks a year, but for a self-proclaimed heartbroken movie and TV buff, it's very much worth looking into.
