seriously, why would you want a copy of the worst OS ever made
if you can run ME, then download 2kpro its about 11tybillion times more stable
where can dl it from? :D
novasearch.net should have it, along with every other OS :)
sharereactor.com
If your system is less than three years old it will take Windows XP. Download this instead, its a squillion times better than ME or 2000.
wrong
if he is running me now, I would wager 2kpro would be better for him than xp
Why would you think 2000 would be better than XP? They are both based on NT.Quote:

ram & processer speed are the first things, you do relize most don't ever use more than half the stuff in xp, its mostly just a resource hog unless you tweek the hell out of it
Thats true but for appearance and ease of use alone i would choose XP any day.Quote:

I have two pc's, the older one has only a celeron 733 Mhz processor 128 MB of SDRAM ram an it runs xp quicker than it worked on ME. I've even ran XP on only 64 Mb of ram without any probs.
I've have original disks of 2000, and only used it for a week before i wiped it off my drive because it looks so depressing. I do admit it was quick, but thats because i hardly installed any other software.
XP is just a quick, but like all OS's you need to maintain it, get rid of all the crap you install every so often by reformating rather than defragmenting.
I haven't reformatted in some time, thats the easy way out IMO
but I'd like to here what his specks are and how much ram, etc etc..
my specs arQuote:

700mhz amd duron processor
64mb memory
20gb hard drive
8mb nvidia TNT2 graphics
56k Modem
Microsoft Windows Me :D
XP would run ok if you got more RAM.
just turn off the visual effects and use the Windows Classic theme, etc.
whne i get to window xp how do i return to windows classic? ;)Quote:

right click ur desktop->properties
select windows classic :D and hit ok
go Control Panel > System > Advanced tab > Performance Settings > Adjust for best performance.
with your specs xp will run like ass no matter what, get 2kpro
I'm using my old pc now (733 Mhz celeron with XP - other pc busy with dvd encoding :D ) and it's as quick as 2000 would be. Your Duron is prob. a bit quicker than my celeron in performance, even though my Mhz is slightly higher than yours.
So take it from me, i've used both OS on this system and XP is the easy winner. I've also ran XP with 64 Mb of ram without any probs. But i would recommend you add the extra 64 Mb to improve performance.
But if you want to find out for yourself download both and see the difference.
