If I switch to 2000 from xp am I gonna regret it afterwords? Does 2000 support most programs?
yes most, you may have to tweak some of the newest games but for the most part faster than xp IMO
I dont really play many games thats why I want to switch, if I do play games most of them are older games wich will have no probs running on 2000.
And I have a question what does IMO mean, everyone uses it.
In My Opinion

One of the big advantages of win2k is it uses less ram and runs faster. Any thing that You might need from XP you can regain by installing VMware.
You can run XP in VMware as a guest OS on win2k and not have to fuck up your files and folders with a lot of added garbage like a dual boot with 2k/XP would do.
If you have more than 384mb ram, XP should run just as fast on VMware as it did as a standalone.
And if XP pisses you off, right click and delete will make you feel soooo much better. ;)
And what would I need from XP that 2000 dosnt have?
Exactly! I like the way you think :D
I got info on every program and game I use and all are compatible with 2000. Plus I dont have much ram(256 shit) so I could use a faster OS.
Just don't forget to grab the chipset and board drivers for win2k. Some are included but a lot aren't.
If you just install it and start using it, you may not get ultra dma 5 and stuff like that. It's a real drag running in PIO mode.
And this has what? to do with your question?
iDk ? DL.?
Or just an odd stranger?
It has to do with me being bored as hell.Cant install 2000 untill i get some blank cds.
You don't need a cd to install it. Create a small fat32 partition and copy all the files there.
reboot with a startup floppy and call the setup files from dos. All you need to know is the path to the partition and folder.
I have it as a .nrg image i downloaded of suprnova. I think I will burn it to a cd then just remformat my hdd and install win 2000.
I just installed win 2000 and i have to say it is way better then xp. To me it looks like xp is just eye candy for win 2000 :D
