Historic moment:

This reminds me of a sight called "Movie Mart". It was dedicated to links like this. Most of the movies were posted at free hosting sites, but it took quite awhile to download the movies.

Then high speed came along and we thought "great, fast downloads&#33;" Unfortunately this imposed such a burden on the servers that it collapsed all these free server sites.

This eventually lead to the whole concept of P2P networks rather than using external hosts.
