like saying I'm on a 56k but I'm download off a t1 how come my speeds are only 5kb

ftth is common place over there

For us in the UK that is a distant future, only now has almost the entire country been ADSL enabled at 512K :blink: and this is achived through copper wires <_< . Maybee a new form of satilite will our option.
there are quicker services available in the uk if you shop around. I've seen 2 Mb/s advertised at just under £30 ($45).Quote:

BTW satilite is being used in rural areas atw, with the best services being 1Mbit and going little beyond that, also the service is expensive and you may need to rent the equiptment.
Satellite is fast, however, it sucks for gaming... it takes it almost a second to send a request and receive a response, therefore making it impossible to play games like SC and CS where packets are sent every few milliseconds.
