Those are perfectly fine temps.
awesome thanks
whats the limit? i have no water cooling or anything and i'm gonna OC a bit more, so how high can my temps go before i start worryin?
You need to start worrying when the temp goes over 70.
:o
thats a lotta heat!
thanks!
Kai
what do you mean noone list CPU temps? we all list CPU temps! lol...but yeah your temps are fine.
I wouldn't let it get as high as 70C.
the cpu die will start to melt at 85C degrees for amd cpus so if ur temp get over 80 it's time to freak out and pull that plug off ur computer
but that'll never happen if u properly install heatsink and a fan on it.
okay, so 70-85 is the temp i have to worry about, what is recommended? 45-50? right now mine is only 39 CPU, 24 case
so whats recommended temps?
there is no "recommended" per se
really depends on ur room environment, if ur room is warm and has little ventilation then ur temps are gonna be high
if you put it next to an open windows it gonna be low
also depends on ur computer design, if ur computer has good air flow and at least 1 system fan at the back helping the psu to expel excess heat ur doing ok
okay i should be fine then as my comp has 5 fans, and my case has sife and top vents as well...
Thanks everyone
Kai
full towers have much more room for air flow inside the case. and that means lower temps. i have a mid tower, and even though all my cables are rounded, the air flow is still small compared to the full towers. plus i don't avhe any fans in the front. i need to put some thereQuote:

5 fans isnt bad!
i could have water cooling, or better yet that liquid nitrogen!
:o ! I just OC'ed my CPU up a tiny bit more, up to 2200Mhz, and my temps got LOWER! how is that?!
here is proof in case someone like adam is reading this ;)
http://server4.uploadit.org/files2/170104-cputemp.bmp
and thats at full load, browsing, winamp, and chatting a little
lol. bigdawg has similar temps. weird. maybe the 2500s get cooler when they reach 3200 speed? weirdQuote:

Maybe they dont.
Oh wait, correction there,
I KNOW THEY DONT.
5 Case fans I guess is just keeping the temp cooler, but you temps will rise the more you overclock.
Oh and btw, your 'full load' isnt full load.
Loop 3d Mark, or Aquamark for 8 hours, and thats full load.
And as for temp range, I myself would start to worry if your load temps get above 60C. Its not going to damage it only going that high, but it would compel me to get better cooling. Actually it did, and thats why I have my VOlcano 11+, until August when I start my evaporative watercooling setup.
sorry my mistake ;)Quote:

and all those temps for recommendations seem to be fairly high so i dont think i have to worry to much
untill i get my 9600XT, then it may be a bit warmer, but i guess that comes with a fan or heatsink or whatever you call it as well :)
so i'm good and cool! :01:
Kai
Yeah, your 9600XT will have a fan on it, and your 5 case fans will carry out the hot air it puts out rather easily.
Although I would suggest buying a 9800 regular, and softmodding/overclocking to a 9800Pro
the 9600 xt isn't that good. sped the $ to get a 9800 non pro or a 9700proQuote:

yeah..I dont think your cpu could run at 31 full load oced that much. Good job though. I got 4 case fans and stock HS and fan...i run at 45C full load
hmm the thing is that I can get an ATI Radeon 9600XT for 250 canadianQuote:

and the 9800 regular is probably a lot more then that, if anyone knows the price, i'd like to know though
I know the 9800se is 219 or so for a saphire one
and the pro is 400 for the saphire or 450 for ATI radeon
so im not sure how much the regular is? i havnt seen em around to much
Kai
Hmm, I was just googling around, and why am I not seeing any regular 9800's?
Are there just SE's, and Pros, and XTs? No Non Pros for the 9800's? Well thats news to me.
don't worry john lennon, i did do a google before posting, and thats all i came up with as well
i never realised that they didnt make a regular 9800
but i hear talk all the time of people softmodding a regular to a pro, well if theres no regular what are they talkin about?! maybe going from se to pro?
oh and the 9600XT comes with HL2 which is nice cuz i would end up buying it anyway
You know, thats exactly what I was freaking thinking.Quote:

Maybe their are talking about a 9800Pro to XT mod?
But anyway, if you can find a 9700Pro, or a 9500Pro for less than the 9600XT, then dont go for the 9600.
4-Some 9500 Non Pros (ones with L shaped memory usually) can be overclocked and softmodded to show up as a 9700Pro.
3-9500Pro's can be easily overclocked to 9700Pro stats.
2-9700 Non pros (im pretty sure they existed.) are good overclockers.)
1-9700 Pros are excellant as well.
yeah i was originally going for the 9500 pro, but they are extremely hard to find in canada!
i remeber sawing one on auction on ebay and the seller will ship to canada.
5900se at 185 us dollars
5900 at 200 us dollars
And it beats the 9600xt from here to China ;)
Where can you find a 5900 for 200?Quote:

i cant find one that cheap
all the ones i see are about 400
the 9800non pro does exist. i've seen at microcenter, best buy, circuit city, newegg, and other stores.
show me oneQuote:

i'd like to see one
So why call a card "non-pro". Call it regular or don't put anything after it ;)
nvm Abu, i found one
it says here
they exist, and i guess they know best
good callQuote:

me & u, were on the same frequency here
I'd still like to know where you can find a 5900 for 200 Canadian!
i am very well aware that it is a better card then the 9600XT, yet around here its a lot more expensive! about 400 or so
Ok, I said 5900 for 200 US dollars, not canadian.
http://castle.pricewatch.com/search/search...+Cards&mi=N&m=N
okay, I stand corrected!
why are they so expensive where i am from?!
NCIX
Mysterybyte
both canadian
EDIT okay the mysterybyte one comes up to their main page, but its on that site for 420 or something
 I dunno about the 487 one, but the second is ULTRA. I would assume the first one is ultra as well
I assume you mean this one
MSI FX5900-SP-VTD256, 256MB DDR, DVI/VIVO/TV-Out/Video-In Retail, 2YR - 464
Well that's 256DDR, not 128
This one looks good though
MSI FX5700-TD128 128M DDR DUAL (TV/DVI) Retail Box, 2YR
Oh by the way, MSI cards are usually a little more expensive than other cards. I use MSI though, love it :)
