Monitor And Hdd

Hey guys.

My first question is that I want a new monitor. Im selling this monitor to my brother. Its a 17inch Dell black monitor. He is giving me $120. I want a monitor around $130 or so...any reccomendations? Thanks!

Also, I'm thinking about getting one of these 160GB HDD. Either THIS Samsung for $110, or THIS Western Digital for $115. Should I go with the western digital? Also I had nooo clue you could get drives this cheap...is there something im missing here? THANKS!

Yeah but given those 2 choices I would still choose the WD.

id go for a wd one as well...id try to stretch my budget o one of these

or if u dont need 160Gb then one of these

Does the board support SATA?

he has a a7n8x and so do i and i got 2 sata ports

you have the deluxe my friend...I dont really care about sata or MAX HDD performance, so i saved the 30 bux...i just want ATA..which is fine.

What is the diff between 133 and 100? Transfer speeds right? Is samsung not known for very good HDD? Thanks so far guys!

How important is 8mb buffer and 133 ata? Which one is more important?

Cuz the samsung has 8mb buffer AND ata 133...3 year warranty too. Why wouldnt you recommend them vb?

sorry didnt relise u didnt have the deluxe...the difference is in transfer speeds i think

The 8mb buffer is more important.

You will rarely reach the 100 bandwidth. Only the occasional peak. So not as important.

Look into Seagate as another choice.

Yeah I have a seagate right now, very nice! I just think the Samsung is good cuz it has 8MB buffer and ATA133. Do you think that will be ok VB, cuz I mean it does come with 3 year warranty. Is there something wrong with them that you know of?

Hmm..I think I will go with this one.

The WD also has a 8mb buffer.

I don't think there is anything "wrong" with it. Just that I would choose another. Just my opinion.

it is his personal preference... Umm i would actually look around see if anyone has one of these drives, or if a review for the drive has been made... If i is ok then sure go for it... just make sure you don't destroy the box etc so it can be returned... if neccesary

Any monitor help now? Good 17inch flat screen...for bout $130 max or so..
