Don't plug the jack into the cd drive, plug it into the speakers :)
the speakers are too high up, if they dont work in the drive why were they put there on PC'S :) :blink:Quote:

actually it would be because he does not have the audio plugs attatched into the back of the cd-rom, instead they are attatched most likley to the headphone jack on the rear of his case, open your case and take a look <_<Quote:

unplug the speakers, plug the headphones in the green hole where the speakers were

Chances are the back of the board is further away than the speakers (and almost guaranteed to be further away than the cd drive)Quote:

Well This is kinda techie for a nubie but here goes. If ya wanna use the the output jacks on the cd drive for your headphones and don't want the speakers to play while doing so turn the volume knob on your speakers down and if it doesn't have one Click start then Control Panel then sounds and audio devices then put a check in the box that says Place Volume Icon In Taskbar and then click apply and OK. Now you will have a icon at the bottom of your screen in the taskbar that looks like a speaker. You now can just click that speaker icon and a volume slidebar will come up and you can turn the volume down on your speakers anytime and your jack on your cd drive should still play. If not do the same thing except use the speaker volume button when you go to control panel~sounds and audio devices and turn them down from there. Or like said before just plug em in the back of your tower where the speakers go LMAO.
so far 4 people have missed the obvious. turn your speakers off
