Pop-Up Stopper Companion
I think it's about time that a pinned topic with good pop-up blockers is made
But,i'ld say google toolbar too. It's free and it does what it's supposed to do :)
i second thatQuote:
Google Tooldbar all the way! B)
if you use google, make sure you turn off page rank
I use myie2 and zonealarm, between the two i never get any :)
Google Toolbar...
...turn off JavaScript...
...place foot through monitor...
or get any other browser in the world. :P
For IE which I use less than 10%, Meaya Popup Ad Filter is by far the best & simplest popup blocker. :01:

Pop-up Blocker?
Why not just use the HOSTS file. It's in like every OS, and you can just edit it to block ads and pop-up. There are existing HOSTS files so that you don't have to do it yourself.
This explains it and has a good HOSTS file
This is another really good site
Using a pop-up blocker is just another program to slow down your computer. <_<

I am using it and it's good.Quote:

It also provides nice coockie management - deletes all coockies automaticly exept for the sites you added to the "safe" list.
HOSTS won't block the popup, it'll just show a blank one. ;)
FireFox is by far the best. It also completely blocks all ads on the page. :D
Yep, and its just as annoying too. Years ago I tried an app that used the host file as a filter or something and well, at least it let you replace the blank pop up with a picture of your choice. :lol:Quote:

Firefox or Mozilla 1.6 (navigator only) And if you really want to be untouchable get the "nuke anything" extention. It will allow you to remove any object on a page just by right clicking and selecting nuke!
I use the HOSTS file and I don't get a single pop-up... without pop-up blockers.
Well, my file has over 20,000 entries. Doesn't it work if you have the server that delivers the pop-up on the HOSTS file? Because if there's no way the HOSTS file can be blocking pop-ups then what can it be?

luck probably. even if you have the server that delivers the popup in the HOSTS file, it is not designed to close popup windows....only the connection that is taking place, and all it does then is redirect it to your local host. so either you are getting popups and are too ashamed to say it, or you have a popup blocker and you dont know that you do :P .Quote:

Try AdMuncher .... best popup blocker I've tried ... also blocks banner ads .... fully customizable ... specify which popups you would like to allow, no lags in browsing like other popup & ad blockers ... and it isn't a resource hogger ...
admuncher
Hey, I'm not ignorant, and I'm not a jerk, and whenever I use a browser with a built in pop-up blocker, I always disable it. Doesn't change the fact that I have a lack of pop-up ads. :D
