Ok, I'm on :shit: 56K :shit: right now, and here in about a week I'm getting ADSL with a 384K downstream and a 128K upstream. I get free modem, free installation, and one month free with a 1 year contract, so hey, I couldn't pass this up. But I'm paying 45 bucks a month, is this a good deal?
So, will I be able to actually download stuff of Kazaa, eMule, regular internet, etc... at like 384 kbs? Any comments welcome.
it is always dependant on the user you are downloading from's connection. If they/them have good connections you will get good speeds.
I get about 70KB/s on 600K so you should get about 40-50KB/s
Ah....bleh...I thought it would be faster...oh well...any thing is better than the dial up I have right now. FOR EXAMPLE....I'm getting a whopping connection speed of 26.4 Kbps right now!

dont know where youre at crono, but here in cali the cable's only 45 bucks
for a 1.5 meg connection, maybe you could look into that as well
if available, you could get more bang fer yer buck B)

Holy crap...oh well, 384 Kbps will do me for now. But I live out in the country, and no I'm so stupid f!@king farmer, but the choices of highspeed internet is sorta limited out here.

ADSL is a method for moving data over regular phone lines. An ADSL circuit is much faster than a regular phone connection, and the wires coming into the subscriber's premises are the same (copper) wires used for regular phone service. ADSL and DSL is bascially the same thing.

Damn...now I just can't wait to get this...you'd figure since I've been on 56K for so long I've learned to develope patience, but that got thrown out the window when I heard how much faster it is compare to 56K...I don't know how much more waiting I can take! :lol:

Are you connected using PPPOE (using windows). Try using RASPPPOE. It is the best PPPOE driver out there
