This would require others to have ActiveX enabled for shockwaveplugin.
ActiveX is notorious for bugs & unsafe surfing : please convert with Flash to other format.
:(
I dont think posting .*swf files is enable
Sigs are not allowed in the .swf format.
Avatars are. ;)
but its a swf how it could need activex???? :huh:Quote:

ActiveX makes use of 3rd party plugins.
bit its a .swf file
As I already told I dont think posting .*swf files is enable in post and signatures.
The code should be:
Code:[Flash=468,70]http://members.lycos.co.uk/mrleech/vegeta.swf[/flash]
swf doesn't work. avi/mpg not either,
just use animated gif if you want a moving one.....
I looked and saw that the best way to convert it is to open in Flash
and use option -export as- then you can choose the format.
Could i just ask a question: why aren't we allowed .swf sigs? You can make them interactive stuff that you could never do with a animated gif:look here for an example. You could choose whether to view them-If you choose not to, well then, thats your choice. As long as you set a realistic limit on size, it would be good, as nobody likes waiting 15 minutes for one Flash movie to load.I would just like to understand why, as surely it is possible.
I think it's a matter of chaos control really.
What if four or five people on a certain page have a .swf file in their sig?
Would be VERY confusing...
All those sounds playing at the same time......
Well in that case disable sound... its quite easy. I've thought up another point - .swf that are exactly the same load up faster than .gifs, as they are vector not bitmap, and they are higher quality.
So I have to disable my sound so some people can mess around?
I don't think so.....
If the powers that may agree with this, we'll have people shouting for avi/mpeg/mp3 sigs soon.
Then .exe files!!!
I say NO!!!
 Eummm disable the sound in the flash movies that's. You dont need sound for .*swf files
Then again, you don't really NEED a swf file to make a sig neither....Quote:

You probably you have toask VB this....
Fact is that we hope that people resize their sigs again. We have had this debate just a few months ago.
for 2 reasons, readability, it's a bulletin board not a picstore...
2nd not everyone has broadband. And we like to keep this board accessable for all.
Aside from that i don't really know if the swf files might work. I understand you can turn off sound in the SWF.
But i can tell you know it won't be long if someone "forget that" or just trying to put that in.
Best i can offer, host a nice swf file somewhere and put a shortcut to it in your link. I will be glad to take a look at it. B)
Ok, fine, just wondering! I'm just going to reply to some of the points you made. A .swf file, as I stated before, will most likely be both smaller and better quality than an animated .gif. I will PM VB about this as you suggested.
Well, you could, but you would lose the of the interactivity.Quote:

All the signatures now are rather annoying. Like we really care what type of computer you have and if you like Eminem or not. The Anna signature can stay though. ;)
its ok :)Quote:
