Hi, wanted to know what you think the best XP tweak program is out there!thanx
I've always liked Xteq X-Setup
If you are looking to tweak this is a great site:
http://www.majorgeeks.com
There's one called WINner Tweak SE2 ... that's what I use along with Tweak UI... search google for WINner Tweak.
tweaks only cause me problems.. i dont do the extra crap besides Defrag, Scandisk, and Norton Antivirus check.
I Have Tweak Xp It Is Pretty Good I Would Recommend using that but otherwise u should try them all to see what u like another good one is Xteq X-Setup try them both

I used tweak xp for a while. I dont run many tweak programs anymore because most of them just bloat your box.
It depends what type of tweaking your trying to do. If its performance wise then a ram optimizer, reg cleaner, and occasional defrag should do the trick. If you really want to tweak your box for performance then turn off all visual styles and themes, icons, etc.
Analog X has a few nifty programs. I use their ram optimizer.
Sorry off topic here...
question for ya SHN...
if i have a lot of Ram(2.5GB) is it overkill for me to have a ram defragger?
Thanks
PS Xteq-6.5 is the mother of all tweak programs and its freeware
if you wanna go a little further. http://www.litepc.com/xplite.html
Its not really necessary. My mj-12 has 3 and my swap is only a gig.Quote:

tweak manager for basics
XTeq X-Setup is great.
You can tweak your system alittle or a lot...You can get it on what is called "The Bleeding Edge", but remember, if you live by the sword you will also die by the sword.
I only recommend tweaking on older systems or on systems that are set up for a special purpose; such as a 'gaming machine' etc.
For a general all-purpose puter, I would say no!!, just try to upgrade the CPU and most definetly max out your ram.
Here is a tweak comparison guide....Tweakhound
