-Nod32 detects it, yet can't quarintine it, or delete it...
-AVG won't even realize that it's there...
-The Cleaner won't either...
Now, Nod32 says its in "C:\Docume~1\owner\locals~1\temp\tc$17478\start.exe", yet "tc$17478" isn't in the damn temp folder :blink:
(in tc$17478, the numbers at the end vary every time it pops up)

Sounds like a job for Norton Corporate. :)
Go into a folder, go to tools>folder options. Then click on "show hidden files and folders" and uncheck "hide protected system files"
Then you should be able to at least see the folder, though you will not be likely to delete it. Try using a program like Norton Cleansweep to delete the folder. Good luck

Navigate to the parent directory of the one containing the virus in DOS and list the folders in that directory. Does the suspect directory appear there?

But just a good review does not convince me. I have to try it first hand. :)

If its only in the temp files, shut down and bot into Ms-Dos, navigate to the directory and do a deltree.
The whole point about temporary folders is that their temporary. Yeah, it'll probably scream at you the next time you log on, but it shouldnt do any harm.
Bad windows programming aside, that is. :/
Actually, forget that - try clearing the temp files using Disk cleanup first. :P

Then you have to navigate to the directory you want to get to. To go forward a directory, type "cd" and then the directory name. For example, if you're in C:\ and you want to go to program files, type:
cd program files
If you want to go back one directory, type
cd..
Once you've navigated to C:\Documents and Settings\owner\localsettings\temp\
type in
dir
This should now give you a full list of all the files and folders in that directory. Good luck.

Nah it's not finding anything. I also scanned the temp folder with nod32, and now it isn't finding anything, so who knows...
Try rebooting into Safe mode (press F8 during boot) and scan with NOD32 again...Quote:
