It can became annoying, but i don't really see a problem with going to old threads.

If your going to bump a year old thread, at least do it for a good reason, not because your "a bit bored". Bumping a year old thread with just a smilie is no different from spamming. kAb if you had a forum, and I came along and started bumping old threads with inconstructive comments or smilies, you wouldn't like it.
